All the talk and claims of prayer today is one of the sources of confusion, doubt and despair that many 'christians' experience which only causes a spiritual death eventually for all who do not know the truth of prayer today.  Then there is the as the 'lost' world itself seeing the hypocrisy and 'nothing' so they do not believe, etc.

If they would look closely, they would see that prayers today that are considered 'answered' are because of:

• 1)  rich people can make it look like God-answered prayer.
• 2)  the devil himself can answer to make people stay with this false religion, etc.
• 3)  people can finagle circumstances
• 4)  good people, when they hear, will do what they can to help (that is God's way - through the brethren)
• 5)  pray spoken outloud in a prayer meeting, gossip, etc. can make any of the above ways happen.

• Matthew 17:21 - prayer and fasting
• Matthew 21:13 - house of prayer
• Matthew 21:22 - prayer, believing, ye shall receive
• Luke 1:13 - prayer to conceive 'how many' children God wants you to have
• Luke 2:37 - night and day prayers - prayer circles and 24 hour prayer meetings...
• Luke 6:12 - all night prayer (INTO a mountain would refer to a cave, not a mountain top!)
• I Peter 3:7 - marriage issues would hinder your prayers
• I Peter 3:12 - you must be righteous to have God watch over you and to hear your prayers
• I Peter 4:7 - prayers for this country so God would heal the land (with II Chronicles 7:14, Jabez, etc.)

• Romans 1:9 - For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
• Ephesians 1:16 - Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
• Philippians 1:4 - Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
• Colossians 1:3 - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
• Colossians 1:9 - For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you,...
• Colossians 4:12 - Epaphras... always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
• I Thessalonians 1:2 - We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
• I Thessalonians 3:10 - Night and day praying exceedingly that ...
• II Thessalonians 1:11 - Wherefore also we pray always for you, ...
• II Timothy 1:3 - ...without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
• Philemon 4 - I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

• Romans 1:9 - For God is my witness ...
• Ephesians 1:15 - Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
• Philippians 1:8 - For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
• Colossians 1:4-8 - Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
• II Timothy 1:4-6 - Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
• I Thessalonians 1:3-7 - Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

• That God would give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.  (and he did with a rightly divided KJB)
• The eyes of our understanding being enlightened to know:
• what is the hope of his calling
• what the riches of the glory of his inheritance
• the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe

• That God would grant us:
• to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in our inner man
• that Christ would dwell in our hearts by faith
• we be able to comprehend what is the breadth, length, depth, height of the love of Christ

• that our love may abound in knowledge and in all judgment
• that we may approve things that are excellent
• that we may be sincere and without offence

• we be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
• we would walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing
• we would be fruitful in every good work
• increasing in the knowledge of God
• strengthened with all might
• unto all patience and longsuffering
• with joyfulness

• to receive a spiritual gift
• to be established
• mutual comfort

• for Paul to be able to tell us what we truly need to know (through the KJB, today)
• to know Paul's affairs
• to be comforted in knowing his life

• we would stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

• we would have Paul perfect that which is lacking in our faith

• God would count us worthy of this calling
• we would fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness
• the work of faith with power
• that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in us - and us in him, according to his grace.

• that the communication of our faith become effectual towards others
• by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus
