Why Would Anyone
No Longer Want to Continue in the Goodness of God?
|
Part I - Introduction
Romans 11:22 -
Behold therefore the goodness and severity
of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou
continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Romans
2:4b - ...not knowing that the goodness
of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Romans
1:21-23 - Because that, when they knew
God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain
in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing
themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the
uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds,
and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
II Thessalonians
1:11 - Wherefore also we pray always
for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil
all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with
power:
Some pastors say that "Paul folks"
don't last long. They eventually quit and give up.
-
A. Right
-
1. because a sincere Paul follower
following the Risen Saviour don't play the game of religion anymore.
-
a. they no longer play the local
church game
-
b. the local church is a scriptural
doctrine, but not based on Acts 2!
-
c. time is running out for the
Gentiles, so there is less and less interest on rightly dividing through
Paul.
-
d. there is much more to
a Christian than just 'soul-winning.'
-
a false salvation is often discovered
-
'another Jesus' is what many 'relgious'
folks have - Paul exposes them!
-
e. no more heavy emphasis on 'sinning'
- ignoring what the risen Saviour did to 'sin' itself!
-
2. etc...
-
B. Right
-
1. Some do quit!
-
2. We are supposed to change our
walk, but for fear of God's judgment but because of the goodness of God
- so we can actually please God in our walk.
So,
my question is WHY?
Why would
anyone who knew and heard the "Paul stuff" vs Great Commission doctrines
ever want to:
-
turn their ears from the truth?
-
not believe after hearing?
-
reject?
-
give up?
-
quit?
-
walk away?
-
change back going opposite to Acts
26:18
After all:
-
Ephesians 2:10
-
ordained that when saved to then do right - we are his workmanship, etc...by
Paul!
-
I Thessalonians
4:7 - called unto godliness ... by Paul!
-
Romans 12:1,2
-
reasonable service - by Paul!
-
Romans 8:8-18
- can now actually please God - by Paul!
-
Romans 2:4
- should bring us to repentance - by Paul!
And we have
learned:
-
II Timothy
2:15,16 - rightly dividing according to Paul, not some Bible
College / Guru's design!
-
Colossians
2:11-16 - circumcision made without hands
-
Romans 4 -
imputation
-
Acts 19
- Despise 'religion'
-
Ephesians 1
-
Spiritual blessings vs physical blessings
-
Romans 7:15-24
-
Flesh and sin within
-
Romans 10:4
- righteousness and the law
-
I Corinthians
6:12 - all things are lawful... but...
So why?
How does it happen?
Are you next?
No?
Don't be so
confident...
Wherefore
let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
I Corinthians
10:12
Moreover
he must have a good report of them which are without;
lest
he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
I Timothy
3:7
Wherefore
we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again;
but
Satan hindered us.
I Thessalonians
2:18
