Part XXIII
This is a review
of all the previous 22 sermons - minus the Scriptures. I don't ever
do sermons without the Scriptures, but in this case, for the sake of review,
I leave them out.
Please look
back to the sermons and notes themselves for the details.
Also, there
is one more sermon - Part 24 - where we look at the details of the final
'act' within Paul's manner of life, which is only mentioned as the last
point in this sermon.
How
did Paul handle the same tough situations that we run into?
1. Those that want to argue - a waste of time for Paul...
...avoid them or give them two tries and leave!
2. Those that hassled him...
...preaching & the word of God!
3. Those that deceived him...
...rebuke them sharply!
4. "Christians" who are lukewarm on sound doctrine in their walk...
...speak, exhort and rebuke with all authority
5. Seducing and evil men...
...stay with what you have learned - don't give in!
6. Those that dishonour and bring you down / hold you back ...
...purge them from your life!
7. The modern Christian seeking pleasures instead...
...turn away from them!
8. "Christians" being offensive & trouble making over Paul's
doctrine...
...have no company, but don't consider them your enemy, either.
Manner of Life as we follow Paul...
-
1. Discover,
for yourself
-
...
for yourself and from the KJB
-
instead
of following others & your religion - from Baptist to Catholic; Presbyterian
to Lutheran; Buddha to Ruckman, etc.!
-
2. Decide,
for yourself, but eventually for others as a testimony
-
Menpleasers or
please God!
-

for the sake of others!

and of the truth in the law.
-
Who
did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
-
They
are destitute of the truth!
-
They
will never get it!
-
Ever

-
They
resist the truth
-
They
turn away their ears from the truth
-
Jewish
fables, and commandments of men turn others from the truth.

from God, with God, of God and toward others as well as yourself!
-
16. Walk
NOT IN...
-
...
not in temples made with hands!
-
...
not in oldness of the letter - even Paul's stuff is not 'the law!'
-
...
not in the flesh
-
...
do we really know who is saved or not... other than by the word of God!
-
...
not in... the dirty walk!
-
...
not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth!
-
...
rejoice not in iniquity!
-
...
not in vain - Paul's labour!
-

-
Avoid
-
cause divisions and offences
contrary to the Paul's teachings!
-
foolish and unlearned
questions (they gender strifes)
-
genealogies, contentions
strivings about the law
-
Withdraw from
such
-
every brother that walketh
disorderly, and not after Paul's teachings, etc.
-
teach otherwise - consent
not to wholesome words/words of Jesus Christ - to the doctrine which is
according to godliness.
-
Do not strive
-
about words to no profit

-
of
the table of devils
-
of
the power that pastors, etc. think they have over the people
-
among
the saints: fornicators, unclean, covetous, filthiness, foolish talkers,
jesting which are not convenient; whoremongers, unclean person, covetous
man, idolater as children of disobedience...
-
Mark them
-
the
bad guys: them which cause divisions and offences contrary to
the doctrine which ye have learned;
-
the
good guys: mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
-
Note them
-
Any
man who does not obey our word by this epistle

-
a

-
a
drunkard
-
Childish things
-
speaking
as a child
-
understanding
as a child
-
thinking
as a child
-
being
tossed to and fro
-
carried
about by every wind of doctrine
-
by
the sleight of men
-
by
cunning craftiness
-
they
lie in wait to deceive
-
Cast off
-
Have no fellowship
-
with
the unfruitful works of darkness
What's left when
none of it works?

The entire
King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO us!
We learn
from the "For" and we learn to apply the 'TO!"
These writings
of Paul are directly from the Risen Saviour to Paul...
...and then
to us through the King James Bible by the Holy Ghost!
