"Unconditional Love Today?"
"Fasting Today?"
17. "Live Today's Charity
- Not Tomorrow's!"
General Outline of
verses used in audio sermon.
Are you tired
of the persecutions, rejections, arguments, the 'hate' you receive ...
and all you are trying to do is live to serve and please God by following
Paul's 'ways' and making those changes in your life - or at least trying...
- as the Scriptures tell us to do?
Maybe we have been sincere in
our trying to do Paul's ways
but NOT IN HIS 'MANNER' OF DOING
THOSE WAYS?
Let's consider these things as we
learn to live Paul's ways - the ways taught to us by the Risen Saviour.
Without considering these things listed below, we may be doing more damage
to our 'listeners' than we realize.
For
meat destroy not the work of God.
All
things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Romans
14:20

Unconditional
Love
-
Yes, for our salvation, Christ has unconditional
love.
-
Romans 5:8:
But God commendeth his love toward
us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
-
Titus 3:4:
But after that the kindness and love of
God our Saviour toward man appeared,
-
But afterwards, does that unconditional
love have conditions?
-
Not to keep his love, any verse that
talks about 'keeping' his love, etc. will be found in the tribulational
books.
-
He loves us and always will...
-
...but there are strings attached now
that you have His love.
-
It is similar to 'all things are lawful'
-
but there strings attached, etc.
-
must be expedient
-
must edify
-
not an occasion for the flesh
-
not cause someone to stumble
-
not brought under the power of.
-
If it meets any of those 'strings' then
it will burn at the judgment seat of Christ.
-
A true christian has no law, so there
is no transgression, no confession needed, etc.
-
Romans 10:3
-
-
Romans 4:15
-
Romans 4:8
-
Romans 5:13
-
Romans 6:11
-
Romans 6:14
-
Romans 6:18
-
Romans 6:22
-
For those that think we are to have
unconditional love towards others as Christ has for us, they tend to forget
that along with all that grace, forgiveness, etc. there must also come
reprove and rebuke, avoid, etc. when the time comes. It isn't just
all love and grace!
-
Christ paid the price... for what have
you paid?
-
People make much ado about Christ's
unconditional love when in reality, they have ignored the 'hard stuff'
we are to have towards others!
-
...because they believe it is showing
a lack of love! It is because we love them that we have to eventually
do the 'hard stuff.'
-
Ephesians 4:15
- But speaking the truth in love, may grow
up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
-
Galatians 4:16
- Am I therefore become your enemy, because
I tell you the truth?
-
II Corinthians
2:4 - For out of much affliction and anguish
of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved,
but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
-
II Corinthians
12:15 - And I will very gladly spend and
be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be
loved.
Fasting
-
People ask themselves (many are afraid
to ask out-loud) why fasting doesn't seem to work.
-
So, they wonder and eventually get mad
and quit thinking the Scriptures lie and there is no God!
-
Physical, mental, medicinal, etc. fasts
are good for us!
-
But a spiritual fast was a OT/Gospels
activity only.
-
Paul and us today:
-
Acts 14:23
- all Jewish stuff still - see verses 27,
28 and comment about going unto Gentiles
-
This is also the ordination stuff -
-
but again, only a Jewish thing - not
today - Paul's early ministry included Jews
-
Acts 27:33-35
-
Paul actually told the men to quit fasting
meat - they needed the strength!
-
So what does Paul say about fasting?
-
Nothing, except...
-
... it be between a husband and wife
fasting from their physical unionating... and then don't fast long as the
devil will jump in and tempt one of you away!
-
I Corinthians
7:5
-
Conclusion:
-
So go ahead and food fast - tv / video
fast - music fast - and see some great results.
-
But if you want to fast before a great
decision, fear, etc. trying to convince God how serious you are, read your
Bible instead!
-
God will show you the answer and your
fasting will have nothing to do with it.
-
Paul's two other examples of 'his' fastings
(II Corinthians 6:5; 11:27) once again
also show the importance of the KJB being I Corinthians
13:20. After we have the whole counsel of God available
in one finished (perfect) Book, fasting is not necessary. We have
the Book now!
17. Charity
-
We see this as part of Paul's manner of life to us today, of course.
-
However, we see people following the teachings of charity from the Tribulation
books today, not from Paul's!
-
Gospel teachings of charity?
-
Tribulational teachings of Charity being taught today:
-
Over-use of charity to cover (ignore) sins of others.
-
A kiss of charity - Greeting people with that sugary 'positive' christianity
of no judgment no concern and as your sign of approval and affection, etc.
-
Having to 'add' charity to your list when Paul teaches that we grow
'from' the charity, we already offer, etc.
-
II Peter 1:7 vs Romans
5:3-5
-
If your charity helps someone grow by being positive, etc, then you shalt
do well...
-
There will be 'feasts' of charity in those days... but they are warned
here that the people you are hanging around are just spots in your feasts
of charity.
-
Jude 12-15
-
Remember, you are in the tribulation here and you can't buy sell or trade
- so you will be around a lot of people, etc.
-
Read 8-15 and you will see that this
is not TO us today!
-
The Catholic way even today - Thyatira
-
In fact, in Revelation 2:19 and verses
18-26, we see the 'catholic' way of charity - the ecumenical
thing...
-
historical and future - but not present day!
-
caring for others over doctrine, etc.
-
soup kitchens, salvation army, etc. but no doctrinal truths...
-
we can not be ashamed of the testimony of the Lord or of Paul today when
we do these types of things...
-
last being more than the first (never taught by Paul, only in the Gospels)
But none of that is to us today, although it appears we are getting
closer...
...maybe that is why this type of charity is so prevelant today!
Risen Saviour's Charity Teaching To Us Today
Here is what Paul / The Risen Saviour, of course, teaches to us today.
This is how we are to look at charity today.
Charity Does Have a Place in Our Lives Today!
-
I Corinthians 16:14
-
Young people - I Timothy 4:12
-
Aged men - Titus 2:2
-
Paul as our ensample - II Timothy 3:10
Charity towards specific people!
-
The Brethren
-
II Timothy 2:22
Us Without Charity?
Charity....
I Corinthians 8:1
I Corinthians 13:4
-
Suffereth long
-
is kind
-
envieth not
-
vaunteth not itself
-
( don't be so proud of your charity - be not puffed up... it isn't charity,
then!
Colossians 3:4 (12-14)
-
is the bond of perfectness
-
When we 'offer' charity to the brethren, we must have...
-
a pure heart
-
a good conscience
-
have faith unfeigned
-
Charity Testimonies:
-
I Thessalonians 3:6
-
II Thessalonians 1:3
Kicker Closing!
I Corinthians 13:13, but don't
forget 14:1!
Preaching, the Bible and study, etc. is more important & authoritative
than charity today!
People use 'charity' today as an excuse to not do according to Paul's
gospel.

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We learn
from the "For" and we learn to apply the 'TO!"
These writings
of Paul are directly from the Risen Saviour to Paul...
...and
then to us through the King James Bible by the Holy Ghost!
