Sermon
on the Mount And seeing the multitudes, he went
up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples
came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught
them, saying...
Matthew
5:1,2
The Quest
for True Happiness?
It is being said today in all of the
denominational writings that the Beatitudes along with the "Sermon on
the Mount" are the way to "true happiness" and success with
all of God's blessings!
The meaning - Beatitude:
1. "Blessedness" - felicity
of the highest kind; consummate bliss; used of the joys of heaven.
"Felicity" means:
1. Happiness, or rather great
happiness; blessedness; blissfulness; appropriately, the joys of heaven.
2. Prosperity; blessing; enjoyment
of good.
Note: In complete contrast to the Gospels
and Hebrews to Jude,
Paul's blessings from the Risen Christ are spiritual today, not
physical!
Ephesians 1:3
- Blessed be the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in
heavenly places in Christ:
grace, hope,
sufferings, joy, faith, wisdom, prudence, utterance, knowledge of Jesus
Christ, judgment, fruit, thanksgiving, love and charity towards the brethren.
If taught TO us today, the Sermon
on the Mount...
...goes against Paul's teachings!
Galatians 1:8,9
-
But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than
that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before,
so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that
ye have received, let him be accursed.
...is taught to please man, not God!
Galatians 1:10
-
For
do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet
pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
So, to the rightly divided Bible Believer,
the Beatitudes would have to be considered a work of darkness
Ephesians 5:11
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
They MUST be reproved!
...teach Christ's work today falsely!
Galatians 2:21
- I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if
righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If Jesus' work
is taught falsely, do they receive real Jesus?
Sermon on the
Mount is NOT OUR SERMON!
People seem to want to be involved
in their own salvation, one way or another!
People today, just like Israel, think
they are commanded to follow those beatitudes - but they have no knowledge
of the rightly divided truth.
Romans 10:2-3
- For I bear them record that they have
a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant
of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness,
have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Those people just seem to have such
a strong desire to have something to do with their salvation - regardless
whether it is to 'earn it', or 'maintain it through confession'!
If it isn't 'maintaining'
their salvation, then they fear losing God's fellowship!
I John 1:7
- But if we walk in the light, as he is
in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
IF ...
Not written TO
us - it is from a tribulation book!
Jewish teaching!
You see, God is
the one faithful - not us!
I Corinthians
1:9 - God is faithful, by whom ye were
called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 3:9
- And to make all men see what is the fellowship
of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
II Timothy
2:13 - If we believe not, yet he abideth
faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Great Commission teachings!
The Sermon on the Mount would be some
of the teachings that Christ told them to take to the world
You ought to know
the verses by now!
Ask folks to be
sure to read them ALL!
Matthew 28:19,20
Mark 16:15-20
Acts 1-8
Not 'To" us!
Simply put, these Beatitudes are not
written to us - "us" meaning the church age Christians that have put our
faith in Christ and received the faith of Christ.
You know ... us - those Blood-Washed;
King James Bible-Only Believers; Rightly Dividing; Reading and believing
That Which is Perfect; Sanctified; Justified; Propitiated; Expiated; Redeemed;
Reconciled; Regenerated; Imputated; Made Free; Adopted sons of God; the
children of God; Paul following. We are Christians in a true
New Testament sense of the word, as according to the teachings of Paul.
PS - "expiated" means Atoned for;
done away by satisfaction offered and accepted.
We are not ashamed
of Christ nor of Paul!
II Timothy
1:8 -Be not thou therefore ashamed
of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker
of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
TO Jews only!
Regarding the Sermon on the Mount, it
was being preached to Jews only!
There was no spiritual circumcision
(Colossians 2:11-16)
There was no indwelling Holy Spirit!
John 7:39 -
(But
this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
The only '...tions' concerning
'salvation' were 'remission' and 'confession!'
Mark 1:4,5
- John did baptize in the wilderness, and
preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went
out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all
baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
Luke 24:47
-And that repentance and remission
of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at
Jerusalem.
There were no New Testament writings
at this time!
Hebrews 9:16,17
- For where a testament is, there must
also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force
after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator
liveth.
The disciples that are mentioned in
verse
1 are referring to the multitudes that have followed Him everywhere
at this point (see 4:23-25)!
Old Testament Jewish sermon
"The Beatitudes," also known
as the "Sermon on the Mount," are just Old Testament Jewish teachings,
given under the law by a Messiah (before His atonement), and is an impossibility
to live it today nor is it even a commandment to do so!
It will take the Spirit of God upon
their flesh to live the Sermon on the Mount during the Tribulation and
Millennium! (See Acts 2:17+)
Not even Christ Himself!
In fact, Christ Himself would not be
considered a child of God according to verse 9
(see Matthew
10:34-36; Luke 12:51-53; John 7:43,44; 10:19,20).
Eternal suicide / murder!
To attempt to apply the Beatitudes doctrinally
to the Christian is eternal suicide / murder; the very liberal pastors
who teach the "sermon" are responsible for some of the greatest suicidal
deaths & disasters in the churches that exist today (yes, spiritually
AND physical suicides!).
When you attempt to apply the Sermon
on the Mount to Christians, you damn those listeners to the lake of fire
at the most or to a confused empty folly form of Christianity if they ever
had been truly saved BEFORE they heard this stuff.
Another Jesus!
So instead, they design a Christ who
is a mushy-lovey-effeminate-love-all-peacemaker that the Ecumenical
world will supposedly try to imitate - he is the Jesus that Paul calls
'another Jesus'.
Peace?
They have no idea the kind of peace
that Jesus was preaching at the time versus the kind of peace that He offers
after they kill him!
Ignore Paul's writings!
No reasonable, sane Christian in his
right mind could reconcile the passages doctrinally with the Pauline epistles.
Folks will read the four Gospels but ignore Romans
to Philemon and still say the WHOLE
Bible is 'for' them.
Instead of rightly dividing, they wrongly
divide and reject the stuff they should accept and accept the stuff they
should reject.
The Sermon on the Mount / Beatitudes,
if taught TO people today, they would be considered to be profane and vain
babblings!
II Timothy
2:15,16 - Study to shew thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase
unto more ungodliness.
More of the
folly manifested today, as we near the last days!
II Timothy
3:9 - But they shall proceed no further:
for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
Prophecy was being completed, however...!
To correctly understand the Sermon on
the Mount, all we have to do is believe what we have read in the Old Testament
until this time in the Gospels.
God promised a literal kingdom with
His ruler on the throne of David.
Matthew 2:6
- And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda,
art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come
a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Matthew 3:2
- And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.
The ruler appeared;
He was heralded / worshipped by some,
rejected by most!
John 1:11 -
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
As the king He could have been, he delivered
the constitution for the kingdom,
(which is an earthly, Messianic, Jewish
kingdom on earth
His teachings as we was walking to fulfil
the law!
They killed their own ruler / king.
Then on went the Great Commission -
for a while, anyway!
Acts 1-8
Then it eventually ended in failure,
as well!
See Acts 7;
9; 13:46; 18:26; 22; 26; 28:28, and all
between those verses
Was what came next - the 'pause that
refreshes' - a 'redo from God?'
No - It was just kept hidden!
Ephesians 3:5
- Which in other ages was not made known
unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and
prophets by the Spirit;
Ephesians 1:4,5
- According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated
us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according
to the good pleasure of his will,
Ephesians 1:10,11
- That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together
in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on
earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being
predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after
the counsel of his own will:
So, in the next
sermon, let's begin to compare the teachings from the Sermon on the Mount
with Paul's Epistles!
