Part XVI
"Take No Thought... Today?"
Matthew
6:22-34
Part I - Sunday School Hour
Part II - Continued in main sermon
We compare what
Jesus said to the Jews during the Gospels and what the Risen Christ says
to us today - through Paul and the KJB!
Make
your choice, but you can't have both!
22: The
light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole
body shall be full of light.
23:
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
-
In the gospel
times, they were told 'one' or the 'other' but not both!
-
Carried over into
the tribulation, they also will 'have' to stay away from the dark!
-
I John 1:5
- This then is the message which we have
heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is
no darkness at all.
-
I John 1:6
- If we say that we have fellowship with
him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
-
I John 2:9
- He that saith he is in the light, and
hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
-
I John 2:11
- But he that hateth his brother is in
darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he
goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
-
II Peter 2:20
- For if after they have escaped the
pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter
end is worse with them than the beginning.
-
Paul would have
us turn from darkness to light - but must it be a total change in one's
personal walk?
-
Acts 26:18
- To open their eyes, and to turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified
by faith that is in me.
-
Acts 26:20
-
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout
all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent
and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Two Masters?
24: No
man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the
other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot
serve God and mammon.
-
There are those
of 'us' serious Bible Believers who have believed that we must stay away
from the darkness - and yes, we should try - as much as possible and practical
- but not to fear the loss of salvation or losing God's spiritual blessings
- or the fear of God's judgment!
-
Yes, we are told
to abhor evil and cling to that which is good!
-
Romans 12:9
-Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor
that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
-
Yes, we are told
to withdraw, neither give heed, purge, reject, be not partakers with, cast
off, have no fellowship, have no company, avoid, mark, etc. all that is
not after Paul and the Risen Saviour!
-
Yes, even though
we now know we are no longer under the law, this is why we still...
-
home-school, if
we can!
-
not just public
& private schools and teachers, but more home curriculums can, will,
and are causing our children to:
-
learn and do things
that are not expedient, according to the Scriptures!
-
to stumble!
-
feed their own
flesh!
-
be not edifying
with proper and truthful teachings!
-
teach their own
flesh to have power over their entire being!
-
From within this
world of darkness, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, we can
still be hurt...
-
Philippians
2:15,16 - That
ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the
midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in
the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day
of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
-
We actually can
watch our own children have the truth of God taught out of them!
-
They can be taught
to be so wise, they will become fools!
-
They will have
the truth of God changed into a lie!
-
They will learn
to worship the creature more than the Creator!
-
They could get
to a point in their own lives that God would give them up unto vile affections!
-
They can become
so against God in their knowledge, that God could give them over to a reprobate
mind, thus they could grow up to be
filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers,
without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment
of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only
do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
-
home-church!
-
Then from false
teachings in the other churches, our children could actually be kept ignorant
of the riches of God's goodness and
forbearance and longsuffering - because
they won't learn that the goodness of
God leadeth thee to repentance!
-
home-play
-
we can control
our friends and influences...
-
home-entertain
-
we can learn to
enjoy what's right and to enjoy it properly as we can behave like a Christian!
-
home-relax
-
the home should
have a quiet and peaceable life in all
godliness and honesty.
-
be home-employed
if we can!
-
we think we could
make our own schedule - be our own boss - ha right!
-
we think we can
keep out the government regulations? - ha, right!
-
stay away from
places that we must stay away from
-
not read, not
watch, not hear, not go, etc.
-
even may have
to do without church fellowship / friends, etc. as well as the 'fun' of
this world...
But,
Can We?
Can we
really stay away totally from the darkness and stay in the light constantly?
-
Come on - even
you homeschoolers or home-whatevers...
-
...how much
of the evil communication do you allow into your home!
-
I Corinthians
15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications
corrupt good manners.
-
...how much
of the 'world' do you have around your kids and visa versa?
-
Do you show
them examples of withdrawing, neither giving heed, purging, rejecting,
being not partakers with, casting off, having no fellowship, having no
company, avoiding, marking, etc. all that is not after Paul and the Risen
Saviour!
-
Do you also guide
them to learn for themselves how to withdraw, neither give heed, purge,
reject, be not partakers with, cast off, have no fellowship, have no company,
avoid, mark, etc. all that is not after Paul and the Risen Saviour!
-
...who are
your friends and acquaintances?
-
Are they of the
light?
-
are they confused?
-
are they
blinded by Satan / themselves?
-
are they unaware?
-
are they rebellious
towards God?
-
Do they edify?
-
Do they have a
"flattering false gospel and Tribulation design of over-done charity"
towards you?
-
Claiming a verse
out of dispensational placement!
-
I Peter 4:8
- And above all things have fervent charity
among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
-
This is a tribulation
verse during a time when they will have to ignore the sins of others -
and still love them, etc.
-
Are they a snake
just waiting to get you into their little coil and then BAM, they bite
you?
-
Do you allow them
to slowly inject their venom into you and your family life?
-
just how entangled
are you in the affairs of this life?
-
II Timothy
2:4 - No man that warreth entangleth himself
with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him
to be a soldier.
-
How much of that
evil communication and those evil hollywood communistic anti-American God
hating God lying communicators do you laugh with and support their testimonies
with your purchases?
-
How much of your
family affection is set on things on
this earth instead of things
above?
-
What does your
family even know about things above?
-
How about your
job?
-
Men?
-
Women?
-
Who influences
and teaches your kids while you both work outside the home?
-
In other words,
who has your kids more than you?
-
Does your place
of employment 'love the truth?"
-
If not, what do
you do when truth and God, etc. is challenged?
-
Does your place
of employment encourage you to 'live in truth' according to the KJB?
-
Do you really
have only one master?
-
According to Paul,
is it even possible to have only one master?
-
According to Paul,
are we even suppose to have only one master?
-
Is it possible
to stay away from the dark totally?
-
Be on the Right-Light
side always?
-
Does anyone really
think they are 'clean enough' that they warrant God's physical blessings?
-
Does God's grace
exist so we can have all the 'dark' in our lives and not suffer the consequences
of such darkness?
-
Does God's grace
still come to us based on our walk? prayer life... or
-
does God still
have to choose who gets grace and how much... or
-
does God's grace
be already in a set design - it exists now in it's final form for Christians?
THEREFORE
- TAKE NO THOUGHT? REALLY?
-
25: Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what
ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the
life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
-
26: Behold
the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather
into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better
than they?
-
27: Which
of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
-
Note: Stature
is 'height' - not 'reputation' - not moral or intellectual distinction
- not 'girth,' etc.
-
28:
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
-
29: And
yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
-
30:
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and
to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye
of little faith?
Main
thought today:
-
31: Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
-
Are we really
to TAKE NO THOUGHT about these things of life today?
-
Do we build a
wall around our house and not be concerned about anything?
-
Do we 'just let
God put it all together for us?
-
Do we think we
try to pray hard and do we think we live a perfectly sinless life?
-
Do we live in
a fantasy world of thinking we are letting God lead our lives by our heart
/ feelings / inner thoughts / His sovereignty controls our life and circumstances
/ physical blessings?
-
Note:
If they wanted to follow Jesus, they were told to sell all!
-
Luke 12:33
- Sell that ye have, and give alms;
provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that
faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
-
Are we told to
also do that today?
-
Well, yes, by
pastors and evangelists and the modern TV religionists, etc.
-
But does Paul
teach that?
-
Is that what the
Risen Christ told Paul to teach us?
Part II - This subject was continued during the morning sermon following
Sunday School
XVIb
God takes
care of His Jews - the Gentiles seek all that 'stuff!')
32:
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father
knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
-
Note the little 'parenthesis' - seeking
"these
things" is our 'nature' as Gentiles!
-
Also see Luke
12:29,30 - And seek not ye what
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For
all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things.
-
Note even the
doubtful mind!
-
We fight that
all the time, don't we?
-
We shouldn't IF
we believe that KJB to true AND that we study it properly!
-
Is it no wonder that the devil would
seek to destroy us, etc. by using what we seek.
-
The Jews seek signs, so the devil tries
to show signs today to subtly keep people who are taught to seek signs
from hearing the truth.
-
II Timothy
3:7 - Ever learning, and never able to
come to the knowledge of the truth.
-
Daniel 12:4
- But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words,
and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and
fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
-
Do you want your
kids to be like Daniel?
-
You know - strong
/ brave / stand up for right / take on the devil's lions, etc.
-
We teach our kids
to sing Dare to be a Daniel!
-
Daniel 1:17
- As for these four children, God gave
them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding
in all visions and dreams.
-
Add that song
to our list of false teachings along with "Peter, James and John
in a Sailboat," "Jonah," etc.!"
-
Satan "teaches" the Gentiles
today to follow signs and "obedience to the gospel law" instead of "obedience
to the faith" / "obedience of faith" and the inspired, preserved and that
which is perfect words of God!
-
Romans 1:5
- By whom we have received grace and apostleship,
for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
-
Romans 16:26
- But now is made manifest, and by the
scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting
God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
-
Satan then "tempts" the Gentiles
today with trusting uncertain riches - believing that gain is godliness
(even in our everyday life) - learning - being lovers of pleasures
- lusts (after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears), even having a form of godliness,
etc.
-
This is all just a setup for the
antichrist - the Tribulation, etc. (NOT the "anarchist,"
as the Message perversion Bible states!)
-
Revelation
16:14 - For they are the spirits
of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth
and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day
of God Almighty.
-
II Thessalonians
2:3,4 - Let no man deceive you by any means:
for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and
that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth
himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he
as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
So,
what does Paul say about taking no thought for our life,
what
we shall eat, or what we shall drink;
nor
yet for our body, what we shall put on?
|
-
II Corinthians
1:12 - For our rejoicing is this, the testimony
of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly
wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world,
and more abundantly to you-ward.
-
I Corinthians
5:9-11 - I wrote unto you in an epistle
not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators
of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters;
for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto
you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator,
or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner;
with such an one no not to eat.
-
-
I Thessalonians
4:11,12 - And that ye study to be quiet,
and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded
you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye
may have lack of nothing.
-
II Thessalonians
3:10 - For even when we were with you,
this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
-
II Thessalonians
3:12 - Now them that are such we command
and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and
eat their own bread.
-
Titus 2:9,10
- Exhort servants to be obedient unto their
own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the
doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
-
purloining - Literally,
to take or carry away for one's self; hence, to steal; to take by theft.
-
I Timothy 6:1,2
-
Let
as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of
all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And
they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they
are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and
beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
The
Kingdom of God for the Jews?
33: But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.
-
Yes, but remember,
it wasn't THERE for them at that time.
-
It was coming,
"THEN those things will be added!"
-
Luke 21:31
- So likewise ye, when ye see these things
come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
-
Even the Lord's
Supper is debunked once again for us today -
-
during the Millennium,
when they will partake together again!
-
Luke 22:16-18
-
For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled
in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said,
Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not
drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
-
Kingdom of
God was offered to the Jews first!
-
Mark 1:15 -
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and
the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
-
Mark 4:11,12
- And he said unto them, Unto you it is
given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are
without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see,
and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at
any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
-
Luke 18:17
- Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall
not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter
therein.
-
Luke 18:24,25
- And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful,
he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom
of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye,
than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
-
Mark 12:24
- And Jesus answering said unto them, Do
ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power
of God?
-
Luke 17:20,21
- And when he was demanded of the Pharisees,
when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom
of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or,
lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
-
His righteousness?
-
His steps in the
Gospels and in the Tribulation
-
I Peter 2:21
- For even hereunto were ye called: because
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow
his steps:
-
rewarded in the
Millennium!
-
Today - we
are imputed with HIS righteousness!
-
Romans 4,
etc.
-
Read Paul for
this marvelous information about God's imputed righteousness to us as a
Christian!
Tomorrow?
34: Take
therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought
for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
-
Old Testament
/ Tribulation, etc. Bleak, eh!
-
James 4:14
- Whereas ye know not what shall be on
the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth
for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
-
Proverbs 27:1
- Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou
knowest not what a day may bring forth.
-
For Paul, it
was important to redeem the time / And that is our concern today!
-
He already knew
what 'tomorrow' will bring - he wanted to make sure he did all he could
while he was still here - with God's grace, of course! So why worry! Get
Busy!
-
Philippians
4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing; but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
