Paul Identifies Our Enemies
Introduction
Part I
Part II

Introduction:

Do we have to 'love' our enemies?  Well, that is what Jesus taught to the Jews.

However...

Let's see what it is that Jesus taught to Paul to teach us instead.  Remember that Jesus will judge our works by Paul's gospel, we may as well do what it is that Paul preaches to us - 'not' what Jesus taught the Jews during the Gospels.

Remember - there was a time when WE were the enemy!
Romans 5:8-11
Romans 6:17-23
Colossians 1:21,22
Ephesians 2:1-3; 11-17

The enemy tries to beguile us!
Colossians 2:4,8,18,19

The enemy works while we sleep!
Matthew 13:25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

They are after our joy, liberty in Christ, our family, our church, our children - ourselves!
Bottom line - they want to destroy the Book!!!!!

II Thessalonians 3:14 - We are not the enemy to each other - well, we are not suppose to be, anyway.
Romans 11:25 - Jews are not directly 'our' enemy.

The Devil is still the one behind it all!
The very enemy itself may not be flesh and blood, but those folks are used as tools / devices / wiles of the devil - so we must be aware - we must watch!
Ephesians 6:12 -For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Luke 8:12 - Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Folks today miss the gospel of Christ as they hear the gospel of Jesus...
II Corinthians 4:3-4 -  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

More Enemy:

He that preaches another gospel, another spirit and another Jesus!
Galatians 1:6-12  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.  For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.  But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.  For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
II Corinthians 1:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

People with evil / corrupt communication
I Corinthians 15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Colossians 3:8 - But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Note: Philemon 6 - We should be putting out the proper communication ourselves! - That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

False Apostles
II Corinthians 11:13 - For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
Revelation 2:2 - I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

Handle the Word of God Deceitfully
II Corinthians 4:2 - But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
II Corinthians 2:17 - For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
I Timothy 6:3-6 - 3: If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.  But godliness with contentment is great gain.
II Timothy 3:5-8 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
