Do folks today understand Paul?
They seem to not! In fact, they reject his teachings to this very
day!
II Timothy 3:5-7; 8-11
Do folks
understand Paul FULLY?
II Timothy 3:10
But thou hast fully known
my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
his doctrine? - modern Christians
ignore Paul's doctrine for Jesus teachings instead!
his manner of life? - they
don't want to know about Paul's life let alone one similiar for themselves!
his purpose? - Paul has
a 3-fold purpose: a) eternal salvation, b) eternal inheritance, and c)
glorify God - same as Jesus' purpose, only Paul was for Gentiles and Jesus
was for the Jews and Jesus just passed His purpose onto to Paul for the
Gentiles.
his faith? Solid as
a rock in assurance!
his longsuffering?
not the modern Christian - we want it soft - woe
unto them who are at ease at Zion...!
his charity? Paul
was always thinking of the other person!
his patience? Paul was willing
to be loved less even though he loved more abundantly - and even be called
the enemy!
Paul's prayers
were answered throughout the NT
... Now I beseech you, brethren,
for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit,
that ye strive togetherwith me in your prayers to God for
me;...
1.
...that I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea;...
(but
if not...Daniel 3:18; Philippians 1:12-14)
2.
...and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the
saints;... (Romans
10:1 - get folks saved, understand and
receive their inheritance!)
3.
...that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God... (Hebrews
13:17)
4.
...and may with you be refreshed. (I
Corinthians 16:18; II Corinthians 7:13; II Timothy 1:16-18)
... Withal praying also for us,
5.
that God would open unto us a door of utterance (I
Corinthians 16:9; II Corinthians 2:12),
to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:... (Colossians
1:25-27; Romans 16:25, 26; Ephesians 3:1-7; 5:32; I Timothy 3:16)
6.
...that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians
6:19-20 - Boldly, but not offensive -
Acts
24:16; Romans 9:33 & I Peter 2:8; I Corinthians 10:32; Philippians
1:10; II Timothy 2:23-26)
... Brethren, pray for
us. SeeI
Thessalonians 5:24to see a faithful family
member who prays as he/she should!
...
Finally, brethren, pray for us,...
7.
...that the word of the Lord may have free course,... (II
Timothy 2:9,10)
8.
... and be glorified, even as it is with you:... (Acts
13:48)
9.
...and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all
men have not faith. (II
Corinthians 1:10; 4:11; Galatians 1:4; I Thessalonians 1:10; II Timothy
3:11; 4:17,18; Romans 7:6; and yet, also
see I Corinthians 5:9-11)
... But withal...
10.
...prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall
be given unto you. See
Romans
16:2,3-5, 6, 12 for specific folks who
comforted and refreshed Paul in his ministry.

It is getting worse daily!
|
II Timothy 3:12,13
- it is going to get worse, folks - count on it! Yea,
and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being
deceived.

But continue on with the
Book - with Jesus - and with Paul!
|
II Timothy 3:14 -But
continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured
of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
Jesus - Paul - the Book! (16,17).
