1.  Not hearing from Christ (through Paul and KJB, of course)

• Not reading - I Timothy 4:13 - Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
• Not studying - I Thessalonians 4:11 - And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
• Not rightly dividing - II Timothy 2:15,16 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
• Not understanding or following Paul - Galatians 1:8 - But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

• Not getting your itching ears scratched, eh!
• II Timothy 4:3,4

• Ecclesiastes 2:11 - Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
• Ecclesiastes 2:17 - Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
• Jeremiah 7:28 -  But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

• Expecting Old Testament action and response from God - American Christianity is OT, including the Gospel Great Commission!
• judgment - according to what you think should happen
• God is longsuffering, but you are not?
• You are judging what the response/reaction should be?
• judgment - according to your prayers (Old Testament / Gospels concept of prayer...)
• Today? - He does chastise and judges - and did - on His own begotten Son - Himself!
• the lost are having their works stored for their white throne judgment time - THEN God will respond!
• Romans 2:5,6 - But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

• Galatians 6:9 - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
• been hearing the preaching - and maybe even trying to make some changes - but tired of the Romans 7 battle.
• been feeding the flesh instead of the spirit and mind - Bible reading, etc. and then wonder why there is no victory?
• Galatians 6:8 - For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
• It's easier to just 'quit' - but then, that is what apostasy is!
• You become apathetic
• Proverbs 15:19 - The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
• Proverbs 21:25 - The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
• Proverbs 18:9 - He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

• Ephesians 4:12-14 - For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
• II Timothy 4:2 - Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
• Titus 2:15 - These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
• II Timothy 2:15,16 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
• II Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

• Enjoyed the 'new' joy of grace, etc. but have hit a wall with Timothy and Titus, etc.
• Now you have no guilt, no fear of loss of salvation, no chastisement (only words), so you slack off and will 'deal with it all later.'
• Enjoying pleasures more than God now that you have the liberty to do so...

• Ecclesiastes 1:18

• Proverbs 3:11
• Proverbs 15:10

• Wearing down as we:
• loved less
• looked at as the enemy
• lose friends and family
• find out our friends and family will bite us - even after they 'love us' and let us 'in' to their lives.
• more loss of:
• voice of joy
• voice of gladness
• voice of the bridegroom
• voice of the bride
• voice of them that say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good, etc. (modern Christians)
• voice of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD (wrong music)
• voice of mirth
• sound of the millstone
• light of the candle

11.  Brush aside the pastor / preacher and what he is trying to do!
I Thessalonians 5:12,13 - Not willing or want to 'know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake.  And be at peace among yourselves.
II Corinthians 11:1 - Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
