Opposites - setisoppO |
According to today's 'scholars,' can God be THIS wrong with the King James Bible? These are a few verses that show the modern bibles have changed the following verses to mean exactly the OPPOSITE of the King James Bible.
We can also see the hatred directed towards Israel in these new Bibles.
Modern Bibles used in these cases is an NIV, but all modern bibles seem to follow the same trends with what verses they 'correct.'
The underlined portions are the places of opposites - but you will obviously
see more worthless 'corrections' in the MB verses.
Hosea 10:1 - :
Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according
to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to
the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Modern Bibles - Israel was a spreading vine; he brought
forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars;
as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones.
Hosea 11:12 - Ephraim
compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but
Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Modern Bibles - Ephraim has surrounded me with lies,
the house of Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God,
even against the faithful Holy One.
Isaiah 18:1,2 - Woe
to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon
the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and
peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation
meted
out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
Modern Bibles - Woe to the land of whirring wings along the
rivers of Cush, which sends envoys by sea in papyrus boats over the water.
Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-skinned, to a people
feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose
land is divided by rivers.
Is that anti-semitism or what!
Psalms 10:4,5 - The
wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God:
God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy
judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth
at them.
Modern Bibles - In his pride the wicked does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always
prosperous;
he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies.
Ecclesiastes 8:10 -
And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of
the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so
done: this is also vanity.
Modern Bibles - Then too, I saw the wicked buried—those who
used to come and go from the holy place and receive praise in the
city where they did this. This too is meaningless.
Isaiah 9:1 - Nevertheless
the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first
he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and
afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea,
beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
Modern Bibles - Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom
for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun
and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee
of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan ...
Isaiah 9:3 - Thou
hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy
before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they
divide the spoil.
Modern Bibles - You have enlarged the nation and increased
their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest,
as men rejoice when dividing the plunder.
Proverbs 26:22 - The
words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost
parts of the belly.
Modern Bibles - The words of a gossip are like choice
morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.
Colossians 2:18 - Let
no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping
of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly
puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Modern Bibles - Do not let anyone who delights in false humility
and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes
into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind
puffs him up with idle notions.
I Corinthians 11:16 - But
if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither
the churches of God.
Modern Bibles - If anyone wants to be contentious about this,
we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.
Genesis 27:39 - And
Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall
be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;
Modern Bibles - His father Isaac answered him, "Your dwelling
will be away from the earth's richness, away from the dew of heaven
above.
Psalm 29:9 - The
voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the
forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
Modern Bibles - The voice of the LORD twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
Galatians 2:20 - I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Modern Bibles - I have been crucified with Christ and
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself
for me.
Proverbs 25:23 - The
north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting
tongue.
Modern Bibles - As a north wind brings rain, so a
sly tongue brings angry looks.
Proverbs 18:24 - A
man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a
friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Modern Bibles - A man of many companions may come
to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Colossians 4:8 - Whom
I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your
estate, and comfort your hearts;
Modern Bibles - I am sending him to you for the express purpose
that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage
your hearts.
