Paul's Epistles
Introduction
NEVERTHELESS, adv. Not the less; notwithstanding; that is,
in opposition to any thing, or without regarding it. It rained, nevertheless,
we proceeded on our journey; we did not the less proceed on our journey;
we proceeded in opposition to the rain, without regarding it, or without
being prevented. Webster's 1828 Dictionary
In spite of what previously took place, God continually showed
His people He is God...
...that they might know that I am the LORD!
He was / is, always will be God but it sure seems that folks today
just can not even begin to understand...
Isaiah 55:8,9 - For
my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith
the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
If all folks want to do is to believe in God,
than they know only a 'fraction of the action' that God would have
to do to/for them if that was what God expected of people today.
Paul's
Epistles
I.
Romans 15:15 -
Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some
sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me
of God,
-
Read 13-21
-
He wrote so we would know with final confidence - from Paul's own
writings!
-
We have the KJB only because of God's grace! Verse
15
-
I Corinthians 13:10 - it
came in the form of the KJB! And now all that knowledge he was talking
about is gone. It's the Book!
-
P.S. - This is the answer to whether or not we are to use II
Peter 1:19-21 today! No - we can
show folks Romans 15:15!
II.
Galatians 4:30a - Nevertheless
what saith the scripture? .
-
Read verses 21-31
-
Turning to the scripture to figure this one out.
-
Good study on the Arabs, again along Ishmael in Genesis
16, eh! Just a little bit more light on the subject today.
-
Comment from one of our Web family members - Referring to Galatians
3:16 and the Arabs, etc.
"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises
made..."
- The seed is Issac and Jacob and the promises
are literal promises given specifically to the Jewish people (not the church)
concerning the land.
"... He saith not, And to seeds, as of
many;"
- These seeds refer to Ishmael, Esau, the Arabs,
and any Jew who rejects Christ. The promises are not given to them
(physical or spiritual) due to their unbelief in the Word of God.
"...but as of one, And to thy seed, which
is Christ"
- Thy seed is Christ, the one who died for us
and gives us the promise of the Spirit through faith (vs
14)
III.
Ephesians 5:33 - Nevertheless
let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and
the wife see that she reverence her husband.
IV.
I Corinthians 7:28 - But
and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath
not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare
you.
-
Read verses 27,28
-
Good news for divorcees - well sort of, anyway.
Still, those marriages will have trouble in the flesh - the lawyers will
see to that - and the children don't go away, nor should they!
-
Christ was not very fond of lawyers:
-
Luke 11:46 - And
he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous
to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
-
Luke 11:52 - Woe
unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered
not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
V.
I Corinthians 9:12 - If
others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless
we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder
the gospel of Christ.
-
Read verses 1-5; 11-12
-
This power from the concept of gain; presentations;
personalities; wisdom of words, guilt, baptism & LS pressure from the
pulpit; vain words, enticing words of man's wisdom, so-called Bible counseling
and psychology, flash - flesh - flush! They exhibit their power
over people!
-
Paul could also, but won't! It would hinder
the gospel of Christ. God does the increase, not us!
-
SUFFER: To feel or undergo pain of body or mind;
to bear what is inconvenient.
-
ENDURE:
1. To last; to continue in the same
state without perishing; to remain; to abide.
2. To bear; to brook; to suffer without
resistance, or without yielding
3. To bear; to sustain; to support without
breaking or yielding to force or pressure. Metals endure a certain degree
of heat without melting.
