I / Introduction Notes for SS audio
That is Paul's stuff we are talking about!
For the hope which is laid up for you in
heaven,
whereof ye heard before in the word of
the truth of the gospel;
Colossians 1:5
If ye continue in the faith grounded and
settled,
and be not moved away from the hope of
the gospel, which ye have heard,
and which was preached to every creature
which is under heaven;
whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Colossians 1:23 -
Not just kids!
Not just men!
Young and old!
Male & female!
I Timothy 4:1 -
...in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, ...
I Timothy 6:10 -
... they have erred from the faith, ...
II Timothy 2:18 -
... overthrow the faith of some
Why?
Why have we gotten so far from Paul's teachings!
-
We are told to follow him and nobody else!
-
We are told to follow his doctrine and if anybody else preaches differently,
he is accursed!
-
We are to hear his ways preached in every church!
-
His preachings and teachings are from the Risen Christ - face to face revelation
- everybody knows He arose - so why do they ignore his teachings?
-
What has happened over the years!
-
William Carey, in 1792, seemed to make the big change.
-
He penned "An Enquiry into the Obligations of Christians to Use Means
for the Conversion of the Heathens."
-
He argued that Jesus' Great Commission applied to all Christians of all
times, and he castigated fellow believers of his day for ignoring it:
-
"Multitudes sit at ease and give themselves no concern about the far
greater part of their fellow sinners, who to this day, are lost in ignorance
and idolatry."
-
You would think that a simple read through the Bible should show it!
-
Lost can't get it!
-
II Corinthians 4:4 - In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe
not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them.
-
II Corinthians 3:14 - But
their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken
away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
-
The saved don't seem to get it, either - but that
is their choice - and/or how they have been taught!
-
Ephesians 4:17-21 -
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk
not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding
darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that
is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling
have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness
with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have
heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
-
II Timothy 4:3 - For
the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears;
Devil hindered Paul, he would most certainly hinder Paul's teachings
today!
-
I Thessalonians 2:18 - Wherefore
we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered
us.
-
Why would the devil be concerned about OT law?
Gospels? Great Commission? Street preachers with a false gospel?
-
Tribulation verses - the pastors themselves destroy
the joy of 'Christians' or those who think they are, anyway.
-
He has his own ministers in the ranks and they preach
righteousness - just theirs instead of His!
-
Even a King James Bible is not a threat to the devil
if wrongly divided!
-
Even 'good' music if it takes the place of your Bible
study and purposes, etc. is not a threat to the devil!
-
But Paul Only? KJB? Rightly Divided?
That poses a serious threat to the devil himself!

- Part II
Scriptural Reasons - The Bible knows why!
For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight:
but all things are naked and opened unto
the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:12,13
1. There were (and still are) those who turned others away!
-
Acts 13:8 - (6-12) But
Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them,
seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
-
gainsayers
-
deceivers deceiving and being deceived...
-
etc.
2. They were those who just couldn't seem to live by faith!
-
Romans 1:17 -
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as
it is written, The just shall live by faith.
-
Galatians 3:1-3 -
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the
truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified
among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having
begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
-
Galatians 5:1 -
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
-
Ephesians 2:8 - For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God:
-
Romans 10:2-3 - For
I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
-
I Timothy 6:5 - Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing
that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
-
II Corinthians 5:7 - (For
we walk by faith, not by sight:)
3. Moved away
-
Colossians 1:23 -
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away
from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached
to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
-
Were not grounded and settled!
-
Colossians 2:7 between
verses 4 & 8 -
-
being thankful means you are confident in what you
have, etc. and so you won't be caught up with enticing words of man's wisdom
or fall for the philosophies of the world, etc.
-
Ephesians 3:17 -
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and
grounded in love,
-
Tossed to and fro
-
Ephesians 4:14 -
That
we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
-
Did not hear the hope of the gospel!
-
II Timothy 4:3 -
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears;
-
Romans 10:17 -
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
-
Did not hear it from Paul!
-
Philippians 4:9 -
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and
seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
4. Trusted in wrong baptism!
-
Colossians 2:12 - Buried
with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith
of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
-
So, that would make them 'lost' even though they
think their water baptism saved them!
-
So we need to do a water baptism after we are saved
then? No - that is not told to us today!
-
So, the one baptism we need is a spiritual baptism!
-
And besides, Paul didn't come to baptize but to preach
the word.
-
That is all in another sermon or three if you want
the details...
5. Their 'faith' was not worth sounding out!
-
I Thessalonians 1:8,9 - For
from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia,
but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that
we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner
of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to
serve the living and true God;
-
Today, does your faith show?
-
I Thessalonians 3:6 -
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings
of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always,
desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
-
Are folks anxious and desiring greatly to hear the
KJB and Paul and preaching of the same?
-
I Timothy 4:15 - Meditate
upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may
appear to all.
-
Does your 'walk' show the profiting?
-
Romans 1:8 - First,
I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken
of throughout the whole world.
Been around men with no faith!
-
II Thessalonians 3:2 - And
that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men
have not faith.

(We do most, but not all of
the verses below - we do skip a few toward the end)
Gave heed to...
-
I Timothy 4:1-3 - Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath
created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know
the truth.

sorrows.

kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them
that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all
families of the earth be blessed.

they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all

joy: for by faith ye stand.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
-

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly;

following their heart as Jesus guides them... supposedly!
-
Galatians 2:20 - I

- Then all the men which knew that their
wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood
by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt,
in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying, As for the word that thou hast spoken
unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. But we
will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to
burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings

house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
For some are already turned aside after Satan.
Didn't want to fight!

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
