How Did Paul Do It? What Paul Did Not Do! |
These two sermons concern practical application for the Bible Believing Christian. As we are looking into what Paul says about 'Others" and how he handled 'Others,' we also see that mothers can specifically apply these wo sermons. Being that this is what folks want to call "Mothers Day," then we may as well give them a sermon - just for them - along with those chocolate truffles, of course.
I Corinthians
9:19-23, with special emphasis on verse
22. He was willing to make himself all things to all men,
that he might by all means save some. (note that in verse
21, he would still not do wrong in the process!)
I Corinthians
13:1-3 - charity - love for the brethren - without that, anything
else he did was nothing!
Acts 24:16
- be without offence
II Corinthians
12:10 - took pleasure in infirmities because of Who would get
the glory, etc.
II Corinthians
12:15 - was willing to spend and be spent - even though it could
mean to be loved less.
II Corinthians
12:19 - do it for their edifying
Philippians
3:13 - look forward instead of looking back and remembering...
Philippians
3:7,8 - if it was done for himself, it wasn't done for Christ
so it was nothing but dung - loss.
Ephesians 3:4
- He listened to the Lord and learned so he could teach it to
us
Ephesians 3:13
- his tribulations helped others
Philippians
1:20-24 - would not do things that were shameful
II Corinthians
10:7-11 - not ashamed of what he knew
Galatians 2:5
- did it all for the truth of the Gospel!!!
Remember: Paul shed tears for his
people. He cared.
II Corinthians
2:4
Philippians
3:18
II Corinthians
12:21
He would give his own soul for them!
I Thessalonians
2:8
Yep, that is how a mother is to her family!
Yep, that is how the Christian ought
to try to be today.
