How To Live Peaceably
With All Men?
|
Well, almost with
all men...
Part V - Boldness
If
it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans
12:18
Let
us therefore follow after the things which make for peace,
and
things wherewith one may edify another.
Romans
14:19
Meekness vs Boldness
am service - meekness
pm service - boldness
BOLD, a.
1. Daring; courageous; brave;
intrepid; fearless; applied to men or other animals; as, bold as a lion.
2. Requiring courage in the
execution; executed with spirit or boldness; planned with courage and spirit;
as a bold enterprise.
3. Confident; not timorous.
4. In an ill sense: rude,
forward, impudent.
(this seems to be the ruckman, street
preachers, bible thumper approach!)
Being bold not mean being a jerk,
a loud embarrassing spectacle, anger, in their face, etc.
Here are the
verses on boldness that we looked at tonight; note that the order
they are in worked very well to preach to us tonight!
-
Acts 4:13
- we have been with the KJB, rightly divided, Paul, etc.
-
Acts 4:29
- with all boldness we may speak the word
-
Acts 13:46
- Paul and Barnabas waxed bold...
-
Acts 19:8
- spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading...
-
Romans 15:15
- written the more boldly
-
II Corinthians
7:4 - joyful in all our tribulation - great is his boldness
of speech toward you!
-
II Corinthians
10:2 - may appear fleshy to others
-
Ephesians 3:12
- our boldness and access is with confidence by the faith OF him!
-
Ephesians 6:19,20
- And for me, that utterance may be given unto
me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly,
as I ought to speak.
-
Philippians
1:14 - the troubles your pastor has should give you more boldness,
not weakening and hiding.
-
I Timothy 3:13
- deacons should have a great boldness in the faith which is
in Christ Jesus - now THERE would ge a good deacon, eh!
-
Philippians
1:20 - According to my earnest expectation
and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness,
as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it
be by life, or by death.
-
Christ should be BOLDLY magnified
in our body - our daily life!
-
This is the
essence of Paul that so many folks balk at when they get to this point!

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
