If it be possible, as much as lieth
in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18 Let us therefore follow after the things
which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Romans 14:19
Does this mean we must then...
Compromise?
Put a false testimony from ourselves?
Be a hypocrite?
Not try to grow in judgment?
etc.
Does this include:
evil communications?
those who won't endure sound doctrine?
those who preach a false doctrine?
etc.
Do we no longer have to avoid, have no company with, etc.?
No!
Note: that if it not be possible - or if doesn't lie within you
- then Paul says to avoid, have no company with, etc.
Here are the notes for tonight's
introductory sermon:
We already have peace with God!
Romans 5:1 - Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ:
We are to preach gospel of peace!
Romans 10:15 - And
how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful
are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings
of good things!
II Timothy 4:2 - Preach
the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort
with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Ephesians 6:15 - And
your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Not Matthew 5:9 -
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall
be called the children of God.
This peace is according to Paul and the Risen
Saviour!
Peace in a marriage!
I Corinthians 7:15 - But
if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not
under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
Peace in the church!
I Corinthians 14:33 - For
God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of
the saints.
Peace with your pastor!
I Thessalonians 5:12,13 - And
we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are
over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly
in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
We are to live in peace - that is our goal!
Ephesians 4:3 - Endeavouring
to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
I Timothy 2:2 - ...that
we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
II Timothy 2:22 -
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Titus 1:4 - To
Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from
God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
How about the peace of lost people?
The way of peace they have not known!
Read Romans 3:17-31
We can know that peace - and we should know that peace!
Philippians 4:9 - Those
things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in
me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Walk this rule = peace be on them!
Galatians 6:15,16 - This
I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the
flesh.
It is a peace that passeth all understanding!
Philippians 4:7 - But
unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift
of Christ.
He is our peace!
Ephesians 2:14 - For
he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle
wall of partition between us;
He preached & made peace between the Jews and Gentiles!
Ephesians 2:14-17 - For
he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle
wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both
unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And
came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were
nigh.
Colossians 1:20 - And,
having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all
things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or
things in heaven.
Let the peace of God rule in our
hearts! And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one
body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3:15

entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
