Part I - Verses from Wednesday, February 14, 2007
Part II - Verses from Sunday morning - February 18, 2007
Part III - Verses from Sunday evening - February 18, 2007

LEST, con.  That not; for fear that.
The phrase may be thus explained.  Ye shall not touch it; that separated or dismissed, ye die.  That here refers to the preceding command or sentence; that being removed or not observed, the fact being not so, ye will die.
Sin no more, lest a worse thing come to thee.  John 5.
Sin no more; that fact not taking place, a worse thing will happen to thee.

We have seen in Paul's way of God more perfectly ministry that God will not 'git us' today.
II Timothy 3:16 reminds us that yes, he will tell us correct doctrine, and he will do it with reproof, and he will correct us, and he will instruct us in righteousness - but He will not 'git' us.

If you do not understand that statement yet, then may I suggest you listen and read Truth or Consequences.

But tonight, we will look into 'consequences' in far more detail:
what can be results of our daily actions if they are not 'right?'

It is not God's judgment - nor is it God's wrath!
Nor is it God's chastisement - Hebrews 12:6 nor is it Revelation 3:19.
Christ paid for all of our physical chastisement!
He took upon Himself the wrath of God's that was meant for us!

However, don't forget ... we can still reap what we sow!

We will reap for some now, and we will reap for some later!
I Timothy 5:24a - Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. ...
I Corinthians 3 - all for our works, we have the Judgment Seat of Christ to look forward to... (NOT the Bema seat... - forget that Greek stuff!)
Colossians 3:24,25 - Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Do we ever count the cost before we start something?
Luke 14:28 - For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Are you prepared to find out what it all REALLY will have cost you?

Proverbs 11:9 - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour...
Proverbs 11:12 - ... a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
Proverbs 25:8 - Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end therof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.

James 3:5 - Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
James 3:8 - But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Let's look at Lest in detail...
...that means according to Paul 'to' us today!
These are possible consequences today for our actions today!

Listen to the audio for detailed comments/preaching on each of the following verses!

February 14, 2007 - Wednesday evening service

Wise in Our Own Conceits!
Romans 11:25 - For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
The Jews and Christians today...
How the Gentiles were able to receive what we have received from Christ - is because the Jews stumbled, etc.

Wisdom of Words
I Corinthians 1:17 - For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
None effect?  Could that even mean salvation?  What is the effect of the cross?  These guys preaching today with vain babblings and enticing words of man's wisdom make the cross of Christ of none effect.  That is a serious charge!

Our Liberty Trips a Weaker One!
I Corinthians 8:9 - But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
Them that are weak can also mean your own children as weaker than the parent!
