Now, let's see what the word of truth says about joy - and how that it is so important to understand the different application of joy from the Gospels to Paul's teachings.

Joy - Gospels
Joy is a result of what one DOES!
i.e..  Matthew 2:10; 13:20; 13:44; 25:21; 25:23, etc. throughout the gospels, their joy is because of something physical they did or saw, etc.

Joy - Paul
Joy is given to us because of our faith in Christ, not because of our works!
Galatians 5:22; Acts 13:52; Romans 5:11; 14:17; 15:13; II Corinthians 1:24; 7:4; I Thessalonians 1:6

So, within the home, true joy today is not because of what the kids or you DO - it is something that is suppose to be already there. The kids will pick up on mom and dad's joy.
