As I watch us here in Touchet - as I take the experiences and hits
that have I have taken and that continue to take place in my own life here
as pastor, husband, grandpa, Christian man - and from what I hear from
the many men from the website family that are fighting their own wars and
battles since they have found the Risen Saviour and that their KJB has
become their final authority WITH UNDERSTANDING AND DIRECTION...
I am making this sermon based on these observations and conversations from
many of our web family's experiences since they have found the Risen Saviour
- the Living God - and have tried to make some serious changes in their
lives. - M Paulson HOPE
A desire of good, accompanied with expectation of obtaining it, or a belief
that it is obtainable.
Hope differs from wish and desire in this, that it implies expectation
of obtaining the good desired & taking possession.
Hope therefore always gives pleasure or joy; whereas wish and desire may
produce or be accompanied with pain and anxiety.
Is the hope of our gains going away or are gaining better hope as we
realize the truth?
Acts 16:19 - And
when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught
Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
Acts 19:24-27
Going to the Risen Savour by following Paul, we lose our religion, something
we thought was true, but has proven itself to be more and more folly!
II Timothy 3:9 -
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto
all men, as theirs also was.
Going to the Risen Savour by following Paul, we see the direction and bleakness
of the future concerning the economy - we see lifestyles becoming more
and more perverted - the road to globalism is here!
Going to the Risen Savour by following Paul, we see our former manner of
life being threatened!
Going to the Risen Savour by following Paul, we even see our salvation
challenged!
Going to the Risen Savour by following Paul, we see ourselves being questioned!
Our prosperity is in danger if we stick to the rightly divided truth these
days!
II Timothy 3:12 -
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Our church and church life is in danger!
Our families are in danger!
Our health is in danger!
Our friends (?) are in danger!
Our country is past the 'danger' point - it is dying daily!
Our freedom to lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty
is being taken away! (II Timothy 2:2)
The freedom, the ability, the desire and the efforts of homeschooling are
in danger, if not already destroyed.
The opportunities to tell people about the Risen Saviour are in danger!
The desires to hear about the Risen Saviour are almost nonexistent!
It seems that just about everyone today chooses to
not endure sound doctrine or even hear about it.
The devil is wearing down the saints!
Daniel 7:25 - And
he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the
saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall
be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Christian men - based on Paul's teachings - are in
danger of extinction!
More and more men are being tossed to and fro with
every wind of doctrine!
they are allowing themselves to be tossed...
they are led to be tossed...
they are being trained to live a life of being tossed
- trusting their pastor / author, etc.
We have fewer aged men wanting to be sober, grave,
temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
We have fewer young men willing to be sober minded,
willing to show themselves a pattern of good works, in doctrine shewing
uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech that cannot be condemned,
willing to be an example of the believers in word,
in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity;
there are few who give attendance to reading, exhortation,
to doctrine!
Christian women - based on Paul's teachings - are
in danger of extinction!
More and more women are turning aside after Satan
as they blaspheme the word of God!
they are being forced to...
they are being taught and prepared to do so...
there are fewer & fewer aged women wanting and
willing to teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to
love their children.
There are fewer young women who are discreet, chaste,
keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands.
There are fewer women who adorn themselves in modest
apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety and with good works.
There are fewer women who are willing and wanting
to learn in silence with all subjection - most women today have been taught
to teach and usurp their authority over the man.
It was once said, "Give Me Liberty, or Give Me
Death!"
It seems that most Christians are becoming more and
more satisfied with death - bondage to the law whether it be OT law or
Gospel law, in order to supposedly receive God's blessings - and won't
fight for a liberty and for the riches of that which come ONLY from
following Paul!
It seems that most of us have had our trust in uncertain
riches - the love of money instead of looking towards the:
riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
riches of the full assurance of understanding, to
the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
It was said by a General in the Civil War just before
entering the Gettysburg battle - (my
comments in blue)
"Most of the men are veterans - the cowards
and shirkers have gone!"
The veterans
have left the churches! It seems that most men left today are cowards
and shirkers!
They follow their pastor instead of reading
their Bible!
They won't witness what they learn, IF they
learn anything!
They can't let go of church when it is obviously
being done in an unscriptural manner!
They fall for every wind of doctrine that blows
their way through various evangelists, books, music groups and great personalities
preaching vain, swelling and flattering words.
They could make the charge without an officer
to lead them!
But men today know little if anything from
their Bible.
They only know what their pastor / denomination
have taught them...
What they do know, is wrongly divided!
They know the gravity of the situation!
How many men really know the seriousness of
things today?
They are still trying to make life better around
the house - spending money like it won't ever stop coming in?
They still think their kids will be ok in their
lifetime?
They know this work is desperate and deadly!
Most men just don't see the seriousness of
the false teachings!
These teachings have destroyed people and have
robbed God of His glory and truth!
They know that for many, this will be their
last charge!
Most men are not any making any plans for any
charge whatsoever!
...other than to their own charge account!
Not one man needs to be told what is expected
of them - they are willing to make the sacrifice it will take - for their
wives, for their children, for God!
Are we men willing to make that sacrifice...
...or will we men just be 'wee-men!'
(awfully close to 'woman' eh!)
Jeremiah 50:37 - A
sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled
people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a
sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.
"Folks - we have the
living God - we have the Risen Saviour - we know to follow His one apostle,
Paul - we have the King James Bible - that which is perfect - we know how
to understand it - we know the Spirit of God will lead us through those
very words! We are no longer under the law - we are under grace -
we are redeemed - we are justified - we are made the righteousness of God
- we have HIS walk imputed to us, not our walk - our works and walk will
be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ, etc."
Acts 24:14.15
- But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call
heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which
are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which
they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead,
both of the just and unjust.
Romans 15:13 - Now
the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may
abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
And yet, it appears that for so many, other than those in thick and fat
of the battles - it seems that the hope of our good brethren is either
weakening - some even failing!
Colossians 1:21-23 -
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked
works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If
ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from
the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to
every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister...
Acts 27:20 -And
when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest
lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
I Corinthians 15:19 -
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Today's Great Commission preachers, etc. are preaching
Christ in this life only - they tell their people NOTHING of the Risen
Christ!
Colossians 3:1-3 -
If
ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with
Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye
also appear with him in glory.
We can expect the hassles, but remember, Paul was
hassled over what they really still wanted!
Acts 23:6 -But
when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees,
he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son
of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in
question.
Acts 26:6-8 - And
now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto
our fathers: Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God
day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am
accused of the Jews. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you,
that God should raise the dead?
These are some of the other verses on hope that
we 'touch' on during the remainder of this sermon:
Romans 5:2: By
whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:4: And
patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost
which is given unto us.
Romans 8:24: For
we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man
seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Romans 8:25: But
if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Romans 12:12: Rejoicing
in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Romans 15:4: For
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Romans 15:13: Now
the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may
abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
I Corinthians 13:7: Beareth
all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
I Corinthians 13:13:
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of
these is charity.
Galatians 5:5: For
we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Ephesians 2:12:
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth
of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope,
and without God in the world:
Colossians 1:5:
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before
in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Colossians 1:23: If
ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from
the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to
every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Colossians 1:27: To
whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery
among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
I Thessalonians 2:19: For
what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the
presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
I Thessalonians 4:13:
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which
are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
II Thessalonians 2:16: Now
our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved
us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
I Timothy 1:1:
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour,
and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
Titus 1:2: In
hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world
began;
Titus 2:13: Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and
our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 3:7: That
being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the
hope of eternal life.

entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
