Part III
Hebrews - Chapters 7,8
As 'religion' grows stronger by changing words from the Bible and re-arranging the truth in the Bible, things may appear to be better - rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing; they are in truth a mess - wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked - Revelation 3:17.
We see four main issues in chapters 7 and 8.
A. Tithing - Abraham gave a tenth to Melchisedec along
with the other comments on tithing show the definite teaching that tithing
is old testament. Paul preaches to us in I
Corinthians 16:2,3 that we should give as God has prospered
us and to give liberally. And knowing that we have been given MORE
than the Jews, we should give more than a tenth. But remember, the giving
is not forced - it is a cheerful willing giving that God is pleased with
from us today. Tithing comments in Hebrews 7:2-10.
B. Priesthood - I will not do a detailed study here on
Melchisedec. Nobody knows who this guy really is. But he seems
to be the pattern established for the perfect priest - such as God Himself.
C. Sacrifice once - The catholics sure do make a mess
of things today by trying to claim all this priest stuff to their pedophiliac
perverted priests today. The priesthood is the best example we can
find about how a group of folks can wrongly divide the word of truth and
damn folks to the lake of fire forever! Rightly Dividing is a serious
teaching to have down properly!
D. New Covenant - to Israel and Judah - NOT to us for
our future, etc.
Salem means peace - possession of peace.
Jerusalem is the City of Peace
Melchisedec was without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God - not really a real person on this earth.
Melchisedec was FIRST king of righteousness, AFTER that
King of Salem!
There must be righteousness before there is peace.
Jesus Christ came with His righteousness the first time, He will come
with peace the second time!
Bunny Trail:
see James 3:17, Luke 2:14, Proverbs 15:33 for some great examples to show the correct order of righteousness BEFORE peace is possible.
In fact, remember what Paul says in Philippians 4:9 - doing right followed by peace! But... remember, we must do the things that Paul preaches, not what Jesus taught in the gospels. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.Back to the main trail!
And here is what a catholic thinks their earthly
priest can do - but a simple reading the verses as they are stated shows
that the earthly priests are not the ones we go to God through - that is
Jesus Christ!
verse 25-28:
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto
God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such
an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those
high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for
the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the
law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath,
which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
If only a catholic would trust the Scriptures as they are rightly divided instead of their lying deceived and deceitful priests, they would truly be able to go unto God!
But sadly, we see these same concepts growing
more and more within our own KJB churches - lifting the pastor to almost
priesthood! We must remember that we ALL are priests 'spiritually'
these days, if we are truly saved! But we are seeing that doctrine
of what is called the priesthood of believers becoming more and more catholic
in its application these days.
This covenant is made to the house of Israel and
house of Judah - verse 8.
Hebrews 8:10,11
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to
me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every
man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the
least to the greatest.
And they will be killed if they witness - because
people then will already know the truth, so if someone has anything to
say, it won't be the truth - and they will be killed for it - with God's
approval! See Zechariah 13:3
