At least we know that his word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89) and that the word of the Lord endureth for ever and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you (I Peter 1:25) so there is no 'fear' of His words disappearing - except from the homes and churches of today's modern Ecumenical Christian - and surprisingly, even from more and more Bible Believer homes as well.  (...but that's another sermon!).

The Family is in trouble!
With the increased publicity of same sex marriages and the heavy influence of Hollywood along with the negative influence from their own family & relatives, more and more of our kids & grand kids are being ruined as they get swallowed up by the ways of the world!

Along with the roles of the husband and wife being reversed, most men no longer have any say in their own family, thus fulfilling the Scriptures concerning the strongman being taken out of the home in order to rob it of the family treasures - namely the wife and children!!!!  Isaiah 3:12As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them.  O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

It seems that even homeschoolers are having a difficult time with their final results not proving out too well!  More and more are ignoring the warnings in II Peter 2:18-20 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

The Body of Christ is in trouble!
The final copmment the Scriptures show us about Jesus Christ is that he is knocking on the door of Christians just seeking fellowship!  (Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.)

It seems more and more that there is no king is Biblical Christianity today: most people are doing that which is right in their own eyes! see Judges 17:6

Revival?  Yet, as we look around us - and as we listen to our friends and family describe 'their' church (if they regularly go to one), it "appears" that there is revival going on in America since 9/11!

Don't See: What we don't see, however, is that they are not admitting that things need to be "fixed;" instead, they all believe that they are finally coming around to the real truth - the "correct" Christianity that includes everyone!  Apparently Christianity has been wrong since 1611!

There is a surge of ecumenicalism that is satisfying the common church-goer - but according to the Scriptures, it is a a false satisfaction, but folks today don't know it nor with they admit it, nor will they even listen to us as we try to show them how to get out of the trap of the devil's blinding snares - yet!

Do See: We actually do see 'angels of light,' otherwise known as the devil's own 'ministers of righteousness,' and brutish pastors scattering their flocks "spiritually" as they gather them "physically" into their mega churches with all sorts of lies, gimmicks and tricks - all in the name of a God that Loves Everyone and wants everyone to have fun with their riches and gains within today's modern Ecumenical Christianity, be it Methodist, Pentecostal, Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, etc. or even Islamic or Buddhist!

We see the lies of the hugely popular ALPHA program gaining ground in churches we thought we would NEVER see such teachings; we see those that actually believe in vain repetition as they recite the deceitful Prayer of Jacob over and over; we see more and more learning from movies like The Passion of the Christ & Left Behind - we see all of our friends and family being deceived more and more each day - even if they claim to be church going Christians - or Believers anyway!

Anyone can get involved - no barriers or denominational walls here!

• They have a "spirit" emphasis but they emphasize the "spirit of anti-christ!"
• They offer changed lives, but not changed souls nor do they teach a Scripturally changed walk!
• They offer neutral ground to make them all feel comfortable - they have taken the strength & fight from Christians today!  Church soldiers have gone AWOL and church leaders have lost their willingness to contend for the faith.  (Jackson story "I find I like it too well!")
• They tell folks to wear the cross, not rise from off the cross!  ( if they ever even got on it in the first place!)
• They encourage water baptism for salvation or church membership, healing, speaking in tongues, believing new revelations and hearing new prophecies, seeing God in visions and hearing God in dreams, as well as hearing His audible voice!
• They offer a message from God but no specific, inspired, preserved and innerrant words from God!
• They teach the Gospels, the book of Acts and some even delve into Hebrews and the middle of Revelation - in other words, if they teach dispensationalism at all, they are wrongly dividing the word of truth!

• Personalities instead of Preachers!
• Prophets instead of Pastors!
• Profit$ instead of works of faith & sacrifice!
• Psychology using modern Bibles & "best-sellers" instead of Obedience to the King James Bible!
• Parties instead of prayer meetings!
• Hollywood styled Prophecy instead of Biblical prophecy - which, by the way, is preaching!
• Polluted Praises after the flesh instead of Godly Praises after the Spirit!

(Some of you may ask if I am just  jealous of those growing mega churches with their gymnasiums and auditoriums?  Nope - The Scriptures tell us to "preach the word - in season and out of season", not to just build buildings and use gimmicks and compromise to increase attendance.  I just want us to look at what the Scriptures say about all of this!  Sound doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness without compromise is not going to build churches today.  This sermon is another monumental 'stand' for our little church!  I can't imagine all the brethren will fellowship with us after this one!!)

Folks, if we were to support the Great Commission as our command for today, then we would have to accept modern Christianity as it is being redesigned today - we would have to consider that Christianity today is DOING RIGHT - exactly as commanded by Jesus Himself.

We would have to accept the music as it has entered into the church scene - we would have to accept the queers and women in the pulpits - we would have to accept the healers and great TV personalities and Christian book authors as being from God - we would have to all build a gymnasium for fit all of the people from Touchet!  We would have to see that revival is taking place instead of the apostasy that the Scriptures and preachers warn us about in the Bible Believing pulpits!

Let's read those scriptures again - only a little closer and little slower - keeping mind rightly dividing the word of truth...

• footwashing
• headcoverings for ladies
• healing the sick
• raising the dead
• preaching to Israel only
• keeping the Sabbath
• All of the Sermon on the Mount
• etc. etc.etc.

• cast out devils!
• speak with new tongues!
• take up serpents!
• drink poison!
• lay hands on sick - healers and healings!

What are they doing preaching about the finished work of Jesus Christ?  That is NOT in the Great Commission!!  (Maybe that is why some preachers don't preach that?
What are they doing preaching about Jews AND Gentiles being baptized into one body?  That is not in the Great Commission!!
What are they doing preaching the gospel of the grace of God?  That is not in the Great Commission!!
What are they doing preaching imputation, justification, etc. (if they are)?  That stuff is NOT in the Great Commission!!

Early Acts shows Israel rejected it all, thus the people could not go the Jew first THEN on to the Gentile nations, etc.  Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8.   Peter, James and John never made it away from the Jews - let alone to any of the nations.

Remember, the Great Commission has not been fulfilled, nor has it been canceled - see Matthew 24:14.  God has just gone into plan "B" - see Galatians 1:11,12; 2:2; Romans 16:25; Romans 11!

We must respond to today's deceptions Scripturally!
We must plant and water the precious seed of the word of God!
We must allow God to work in our friends and family memebers using us in the proper manner:  II Timothy 2:24-26  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

We must be willing and able to show folks Biblical doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.

We must be confident that according to the Word of God, we do have the answers in that King James Bible.  But our friends and family MUST SEE the hope that is in US, not just in the church!

We must show others, not just tell - we must walk, not just talk in how we worship God in spirit and truth!  John 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
