Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Continuing in the series, the next thing in line with the Devils Deceptions is the Holy Bible - known as the Scriptures.  Note in the preface the verses where the Devil has changed the word 'follow' to the word 'imitate' and you will see the obvious differences that are taking place today in Christianity.  Fakery and phoniness is abundant in Christians - and they don't even realize it because the devil has corrupted and perverted the scriptures themselves.

One of Satan's most obvious and yet the sneakiest device he uses to get an advantage over Christians is his perverting of the scriptures!

Lets' just continue the study regarding the phony scriptures that the devil has people believing - even though most people don't read those, either.  If they did, they would most certainly see some problems.

The scriptures show true salvation!
I Corinthians 15:3,4  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

People err not knowing the scriptures!
Matthew 22:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

The scriptures must be fulfilled!
Matthew 26:54  But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

Jesus preached the scriptures!
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Jesus is the one who gives us our understanding of the scriptures!
Luke 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

Scriptures deal with our own eternal life and they testify of the real Jesus Christ!
John 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Acts 18:28  For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Paul reasoned with the scriptures!
Acts 17:2  And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Scriptures were searched daily!
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Scriptures give comfort and hope!
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

The Scriptures prove the correct gospel!
I Corinthians 15:3,4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Timothy knew them as a child!
II Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

People who mess with the scriptures, do so at their own risk!
II Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Revelation 22:18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Revelation 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

We are to live everyday by His words!
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

We must have His words, not man's words!
I Thessalonnians 2:13  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

God inspired His words to us with four profitable purposes in mind!
II Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

God promised that you would have them available even today!
Psalms 12:6,7  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Do you have those same scriptures?

They are more important than His own name!  Thus the devil MUST get at them!
Psalm 138:2b  ... for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

There are those scholarly people out there somewhere who will corrupt His words!
II Corinthians 2:17a   For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God...

Even though there are false words out there, there always has & always will be the one true one!
I Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Pastors and dads are suppose to teach the difference between God's true scriptures and the devils phony scriptures!  (and between the true church & the devils church; the true spirit & the devils spirit; the true apostles & the devils apostles; the true great men of faith & the devils great men of works; a true shepherd and the devils ministers of righteousness; a true salvation & the devils damnation; the true Saviour & the devils phony savior!)
Ezekiel 44:23  And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

There are those out there somewhere who will corrupt them into phony scriptures!
II Corinthians 2:17a   For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God...

How can you corrupt the word of God?
1.  By privately interpreting the scriptures!  II Peter 1:20see Private Interpretation study
2.  By not knowing the scriptures! Matthew 22:29
3.  By wrongly dividing the scriptures!  II Timothy 2:15
4.  By publishing the perverted scriptures!  II Cor 2:17

Phony scriptures Resemble the Real Thing!

ASV, RSV, NIV, NKJV, 21st KJV, LB, REB, NAB, LB, GN, NWT, NASB, etc. etc. etc.
Old & New Scofield, Misc. Study Bibles, Misc. Reference Bibles, Chain Bibles, Parallel, etc.
A.  In Sight (although less and less nowadays, we are so 'far gone')
Were same colors - but misc. colors, now!
Were same bindings but now many sizes!
Wide margins and all kinds!
Took out "holy" and now have it back on!
Red letter and non red letter - both available now!
Children Bibles; Student Bibles and Adult Bibles, Lady Bibles, Black folk bibles, etc!
Versions with references and versions without references!
Fancy book covers now hide the versions AND the KJV for attack!

B.  In Sound
1.  Not all the references to certain words/verses are removed!
Luke 4:4 / Matt 4;4 / Deut 8:3 (only Lk 4:4 is corrupted)
"follow" vs "imitate" - not all 'follows' are changed - only 6 major verses!
Col 1:14 - not all blood taken out of the Bible!
Everybody sings the same hymns EVEN if they don't teach 'their' doctrine!
(7th Day Adventists mean 'if' we get to heaven, not 'when'!)
2.  There is a trend to return to the sound of the KJV
(New Millennium Bible, NKJV, 21st Century KJV)

C.  In Success
They all brag on their sales except KJV!  Not even close, still, but they claim they are!
They lie in the posters in bookstores - they LIE about sales/ reading level/ no changes in doctrine, etc.
"Each one is better than the one before", they say!
Many went bankrupt, so they re-edited their dying version and re-made another new one!
They have great marketing & promotions based on any pitch - EXCEPT 'the truth'!
(older manuscripts, newer manuscripts, easier to read, great study notes, prophecy notes included,
greek and hebrew definitions included, easier to understand, new discoveries, scholarly lists of advisers, etc.)

II.
Phony scriptures Receive Praise from the Religious!
Luke 16:15
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men;
but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men
is abomination in the sight of God.

A.  Unsaved

When you find unsaved people who claim to be religious, yet they deny the 'fundamentals of the faith', you have found people were are NOT going to chose the KJV for their Bible.

There are many things that are ONLY in the KJV and if folks don't want those things, they will praise the rest of the books, even if they have never even read them nor do they believe that they are important anymore.

B.  Ungodly
Those ungodly ones, saved or not, that are not separated from sin and wickedness, will claim all sorts of bible version interpretations - many of which will not even be in their own per-version.  The concept of reading what you want matches up with their concept of 'walking' the way they want.

The more wicked a religious person is, the more likely he is to pick a perversion to have for his so-called Bible!

C.  Unbelieving
Whether they claim salvation or not, this is a group of people who don't believe the Bible to be the word of God - just the message, the truths, etc.  Most of these 'saved' people don't base their belief on the Bible - they listen to their pastor or establish their own opinions and interpretations. Doctrine is not an issue to these people and in fact, they tend to get highly offended when you speak about Doctrine.

Jesus said to his own disciples - Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Sometimes we are labeled a cult just because we believe the scriptures for what they say!  So was Paul -  Acts 24:`14  But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

Phony scriptures Rob Reliability from the Readers!
These phony versions cast doubt; spread confusion and make quitters!
I Timothy 4:11
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
I Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion,
but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Jeremiah 23:16
Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you:
they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart,
and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:22
But if they had stood in my counsel,
and had caused my people to hear my words,
then they should have turned them from their evil way,
and from the evil of their doings.

A.  Reliability of Their Beliefs
Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings,
and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

B.  Reliability of Their Behaviour
Luke 4:4
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

C.  Reliability of Their Battles
It is written... - the scriptures say - It is against the scriptures ... should be our words;
not I think..., I believe..., the Bible teaches ...etc.

Satan tries to rob the Christian of his final and absolute authority by giving the person a bunch of weak authorities thus making the christian himself the final authority instead of God!
Ephesians 6:17
... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
II Samuel 23:10
 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary,
and his hand clave unto the sword:
and the LORD wrought a great victory that day;
Jeremiah 48:10
Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully,
and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
Psalm 149:6
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a twoedged sword in their hand;
Hebrews 12:4
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Judges 3:21,22
And Ehud put forth his left hand,
and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:
And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade,
so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly;
and the dirt came out.
Revelation 19:13-15
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:
and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword,
that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
IV.
Phony scriptures Remove the Realities of Faith!
Under the guise of 'understanding' and 'seeing', simple faith is dismissed, rejected & mocked!
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Jeremiah 23:30
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD,
that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly,
his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 14:23
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith:
for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Faith is robbed from Christians in versions other than KJV:
Daniel 3:25 - Jesus is in our fiery trials with us, but not in other versions!
Micah 5:2 - Jesus Christ has no 'origin' but he does in other versions!
Zechariah 13:6 - These marks on His hands prove Jesus Christ - but not in other versions!
Luke 2:33 - Joseph is not Jesus' father, but he is in other versions!
Luke 4:4 - our daily walk is to be by every word of God, except in other versions!
Luke 16:23 - Hell is a real place, but not in other versions!
Acts 1:3 - Infallible proofs prove the resurrection, but not in other versions!
Acts 8:37 - Salvation before baptism, except in other versions!
Romans 13:9 - We are to judge, but not according to what other versions say!
Colossians 1:14 - The blood is necessary for redemption, except in other versions!
I Thessalonians 1:6 - We are to follow, but not imitate!
(there are hundreds and hundreds of more places where these things can be found!)

Think about this!  When you have two people talking about their bibles - and one says that his bible is full of contradictions and mistakes, etc. and the other person says his Bible is perfect, inspired and preserved just like God promised, etc. which one is doing the other a favor?  The one trying to CUT DOWN the others book and faith or the one trying to UPLIFT the book and his faith?

Which one do you think God would be pleased with?

Beware of Satan's Scriptures because they are
"Like Those of the Most High"
but they are NOT!
