Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2006 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2006
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15

One More Gloriousity...
Glorious Liberty
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into
the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Romans 8:21

The doctrine of the Liberty of Christ is complex if you want to try to find a way to justify your ungodly action.
The doctrine of the Liberty of Christ is simple if you are one to seek the Book for how to live - and then try to live it!

To complete The Miracle Grow and Glow sermon on rightly dividing the word 'glorious,' we have the glorious liberty of the children of God!
Note:
Children of God is not based on being a peacemaker in Matthew 5:9 but instead is based on our faith in Christ, Galatians 3:26.
Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Galatians 3:26 - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

II Corinthians 3:17 -  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

People are envious of that liberty!
As the world is of America, soon to lose it (changed it to 'freedom' and now it's going down) - so are Christians soon to lose that liberty as we have it through Jesus Christ, etc. in the Tribulation.
Galatians 2:4 - And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
Galatians 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Note:
MADE us free - not set!
Romans 6:18 - Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Romans 6:22 -  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
In fact, we are seeing more and more a common attack with Tribulational flavor... (note, we can not go back to darkness - but our 'life' can be still more of a disaster - reap what you sow, eh!)
II Peter 2:18-20 - For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.  While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
Note: Physical kingdom - pollutions of the world - knowledge of the Lord and Saviour, etc.

But for us today...

... don't be holy and devout with this liberty - don't over-reject or over-use this liberty!

Don't use your liberty...

... to become a stumblingblock

To them that are weak!
(friends, workers, neighbors, family - children/grandchildren)
I Corinthians 8:6-9 -  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.  Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.  But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.  But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
Read all of chapter 8!

There are those 'saved' who are weak in the faith!
Romans 14:1 - Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Read all of Romans 14:1-13

Romans 14:21 -  It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

P.S. We are not talking here about the gainsayers, flatterers, etc. They are 'wrong' in the faith and are looking for a battle - and must be kept out of our houses!

Titus 1:9 - Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
II Timothy 3:1-7 - ...from such turn away
You protect your family by keeping them and their battles out - don't play their game!

Besides, your persistence in your battle with them might cause someone else to stumble!
I Timothy 1:4 - Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
II Timothy 2:23 - But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Titus 3:9 - But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Don't be contentious over 'giving-in' - let em go!  Proverbs 13:10 - Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Don't rejoice when you seem to be the better one - Proverbs 24:17 - Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:  and remember, if is a 'brother' then they are not your enemy, anyway!

...as an occasion to the flesh!

Galatians 5:13 - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

... by claiming you can still do everything and anything!

I Corinthians 10:23 - All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

We should edify!
Ephesians 4:12 - For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians 4:16 - From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
I Thessalonians 5:11 - Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

II Corinthians 13:10 -  Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace,
and things wherewith one may edify another.
Romans 14:19
