Global Warning

We have seen some horrendous 'disasters' recently.
Tsunami - New Orleans - what's next?

Global Warming?
Is it Global Warming, as some say?
Is it the Judgment of God, as some say?

Neither!

Come on - that global warming stuff is so much full of nonsense - just look at some facts from those that have some legitimate information, not just the media hype folks and the Kyoto followers - anything to destroy America!

But hey!  There still is a real Global Warming coming, though!
Revelation 14:10  ... he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels,
Revelation 16:8  ... power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat,
Revelation 8:5-10  And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, ... and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, ... the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up...  as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: ... there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp...
Revelation 19:12a   His eyes were as a flame of fire,

Judgment of God?
Are we seeing the judgment of God?
Hardly - There have been many hurricanes in the past.  Yes, this one in New Orleans is by far the worst ever - and yes, the city is full of sin, etc.  But isn't San Francisco?  LA?  Las Vegas?  Seattle & Portland?  New York City - two little towers in a city of millions...

And besides, it seems that God even allowed New Orleans 'another' chance - a puff of dry air from the Midwest at the last second burped the hurricane to the East just enough to keep the main part of the hurricane away from the city itself.  What failed after the hurricane was man's work - the levee.

Miserable?  Yes!   Wrath? folks don't have a clue!
Those things have life miserable for many - even for the nation, etc. But folks, most people have no idea what the 'judgment of God' will let alone know when it is going to take place - or who will have to suffer through it, etc.

As Christians, "global warming" is not our problem!
Remember, those verses on the real Global Warming is stuff we don't have worry about or fear today, if we are saved, that is!!
Romans 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
I Thessalonians 5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Are we seeing God's wrath today?

Old Testament - Gospels
That was always a legitimate fear of God's wrath - in the OT - even within the Gospels!
(Gospels were still OT, remember?)
Matthew 5:21,22  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:  But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 12:36  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Paul
Not in the Pauline Epistles - not in Paul's gospel!
Christ paid it all - all means all!
I Thessalonians 5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Romans 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

A token - to be counted worthy!
II Thessalonians 1:3-5  We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
II Timothy 2:12 -  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Christ, not God!
Besides, Christ will be the judge, not God.
John 5:22  For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
John 5:27  And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
John 5:30   I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 8:16  And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
John 12:31  Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Judgment Today
Today, judgment is by the Holy Spirit - Christ's words - through the King James Bible - 'warnings to the lost!'  Global warnings!
John 16:12-15  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Romans 10:14-16  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Look at a few detailed description of God's judgment!  Have we seen ANY of this yet?

Do you escape?
Romans 2:3-6  And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

Folks had a chance to leave New Orleans... but they didn't, and now they blame someone else!

Or are you one of those who will you continue to choose NOT to follow Jesus Christ?

In the end, it certainly won't be God's fault!
John 3:16-18  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Nor will it be mine, as your pastor/preacher...
II Timothy 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Let's close with this in II Peter 3:7-13
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
