Want to Give Up?
Don't!
He Doesn't Give Up
On Us Today!
|
But God did on some folks in the past...
Adam and Eve!
-
POW - slapped a curse on them all - Genesis 3:13-19
-
He then let them live it out!
-
Genesis 3:22-24 - And
the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good
and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree
of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth
from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden
Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way
of the tree of life.
People of Noah's time!
-
He destroyed all but 8!
-
Genesis 6:5-9
-
Jesus even talked about them.
Luke 17:26,27 - And as it was in the days
of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.) They did eat,
they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the
day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them
all.
-
As did Jesus talk about Sodom and Gomorra - Luke
17:28-30 - Likewise also as it was
in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they
planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained
fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus
shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Noah?
-
What about Noah when he messed up his last days?
-
Nothing said, anyway, at his end.
-
Genesis 9:28,29 - And
Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. And all
the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
Tower of Babel
-
Genesis 11:1-9
-
God confounded them!
-
Confound - Websters 1828

3. To mix or blend, so as to occasion a mistake of one thing for another.
4. To perplex; to disturb the apprehension by indistinctness of ideas
or words.
5. To abash; to throw the mind into disorder; to cast down; to make
ashamed.
6. To perplex with terror; to terrify; to dismay; to astonish; to throw

-
CONFOUNDED, pp.
1. Mixed or blended in disorder; perplexed; abashed; dismayed; put
to shame and silence; astonished.
2. Enormous; as a confounded tory. [Vulgar.]
But God did not give up with
Abraham?
-
Remember his big mistake? Genesis 16:11,12
We
ought to - we are still seeing the results of it all today!
-
Genesis 25:7,8 - he died! And
these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred
threescore and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and
died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered
to his people.
-
Romans 4:16-22
-
Luke 16:19-31
-
And remember that the heathen then were the Gentiles - US! ahem!
Not Even Moses - but close, eh!
-
Even Moses wanted to give up on his folks... "...ye rebels..."
Numbers
20:10
-
...and it cost him.... Numbers 20:12
-
And
the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify
me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring
this congregation into the land which I have given them.
-
He died yet his burial was unknown! - Deuteronomy
34:5-7
-
God still had plans for Moses! Jude
9, Revelation 11
PS - as a pastor, I am not to try to
be a Moses - I am not to lead folks through their wilderness walk - I am
to take them to the Book and then God, through Jesus Christ, through Paul
by the Holy Spirit through the written King James Bible where God can still
show them! I Thessalonians 5:12,13.
I have to say though, it is hard
to step aside through it all - it really is. I also can not give
up on the folks nor should they give up on me as their pastor / preacher
/ teacher!
Now, what about Jesus' time - a
time when "blasphemy" is a serious issue!
He didn't give up on The Jews
-
Forgiveness was always still available - even before Christ died, it was
called remission, etc.
-
See Mark 3:28 - Verily
I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies
wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
-
Blasphemy is now the issue...
-
Mark 3:29-30 - But
he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness,
but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean
spirit.
-
Luke 12:10 - And
whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven
him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not
be forgiven.
-
God did finally put His own on 'hold" so Paul could go to the Gentiles
with a 'more perfect' way of God, but He still has not given up on his
people - Romans 10:19; 11:8-10; Romans 11:25:
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
God did not even give up on
Paul
-
...a former blasphemer himself - I Timothy 1:13
- Who was before a blasphemer,
and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it
ignorantly in unbelief.
-
Jews blasphemed God in their testimony to the Gentiles - Romans
2:24 - For the name of God is blasphemed
among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
How about us today?
-
Men - I Timothy 6:1
-
Women - Titus 2:5
But is it forgiven? Yes! In fact, not less (remission) but
even more than just forgiven!
Titus 2:14 - Who
gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify
unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
However, note that Paul did let some folks 'go!'
I TImothy 1:19,20 - Holding
faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith
have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered
unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
In the Future?
-
And in the tribulation, there will be a sin unto death!
-
I John 5:16 - If
any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask,
and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a
sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Next: the word 'reprobate?'
That is in our time today!
