Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2006 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2006
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15

Sermon Series on Putting Paul's Gospel Into Our Own Family Life
(based on my chart tract)

First comes crucifying our flesh / world...
Galatians 5:24 - And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

...then we can rise & live our family life with Him as designed by Him which was then presented to and patterned for us by Paul.
I Timothy 1:16 - Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Colossians 3:1 -  f ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

We continue to go deeper, just not different.
Remember - a more excellent way!  the way of God more perfectly
The Gift of Grace
Part V
Fear Factor
Part II

Fear of God During Paul's Dispensation of Grace

It seems that the hypers preach a 'no fear of God' message as much as the Modern Christianity Warrenites, etc.

Christ took care of the law, but do we throw it out?  No - we are now to establish it.

God took care of His having to punish us, etc. but does that mean that now God is out of the picture?  No - we still need to give Him glory.
I Corinthians 10:31 - Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Philippians 1:11 - Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 2:11 - And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Grace is grace - mercy is mercy, etc. but do we don't just throw God out of the picture!
God is STILL in the picture!

What about "fear" during Paul's Dispensation of Grace!

early church (no such thing as mid Acts Dispensation...) - Acts 5:11; Acts 9:31
Ananias and Sapphira - Acts 5

Paul's Ministry!
Acts 13:16
Acts 13:26

No fear!
Paul says there is no fear of God before their eyes! - Romans 3:18

Now that we are saved!
Romans 8:15 - not the spirit of bondage again to fear
II Timothy 1:7 - not spirit of fear
Philippians 1:14 - speak the word of God without fear

II Corinthians 7:1 - perfecting holiness in the fear of God
Ephesians 5:21 - submit ourselves one to another
Philippians 2:12,13 - Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Pay now or pay later?
I Timothy 5:24,25
Colossians 3:24,25
poor; shame of nakedness; blindness - Revelation 3:18

Fear God
Romans 11:18-21 - God could!  To us, His promises are secure, but He is capable!  He is God!

Who He is not!
    not our buddy, pal
not a respecter of persons - Romans 2:11: For there is no respect of persons with God.

Consider His Past
    all that He did!

Consider His Present
what He did to His own begotten Son

Consider His Future
    Tribulation
    Judgment Seat
    White Throne
II Corinthians 5:10-12 - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

Fear - Hear - Acknowledge the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation - Believe - Trust!  Ephesians 1:12
God will give you repentance to the acknowledging of the truth - and you can get yourself out of the snare of the devil yourself!  II Timothy 2:25

Grace / Mercy / Peace - in that order!
I Timothy 1:2
II Timothy 1:2

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written,
For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Romans 15:9

Now we have the Book!
I Corinthians 13:10

Rick W is a liar!
Great Commission is a lie if taught TO anyone today as Gospel to live today!

Application to the home!

Dad has lost his strength!
    handed it over
    educated out of it
    had it preached away
    had it voted away
    government has taken it
wives and children have yanked it away

No fear of God - no fear of Dad!
If there is a fear factor in the home, it isusually an OT design or Millennial design - fear of the iron rod, etc. and didn't work in the Bible days, nor does it work today.

Even if Dad wants to get back to what is right, most Dad's are out of touch with how to do it!
    been given a false gospel
    not been in the book
    not rightly dividing

Fear Dad
What he has done in his life to be the dad
Who he is now and what he is to be doing as the dad
What it will be like when he is gone - it will be too late, kids!

God still knows what He is doing - there is still time, dad!
Make sure you are the 'rightly divided' dad -
remember:  you can't stop a monster overnight that has been created in your home!
But you can start getting it together with your family.

Revelation 3:20 - sup
dads - stay in the Book and stay with your kids!
stay with your family and talk to them
get out of the 'distraction' you are in - your family is more important!

You and your family is still important to God!  He has grace but yet He is still God!
It should be important to you, too - after all, YOU ARE THE DAD!
