Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2006 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2006
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15

Sermon Series on Putting Paul's Gospel Into Our Own Family Life
(based on chart tract)

First comes crucifying our flesh / world...
Galatians 5:24 - And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

...then we can rise & live our family life with Him as designed by Him which was then presented to and patterned for us by Paul.
I Timothy 1:16 - Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Colossians 3:1 -  f ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

We continue to go deeper, just not different.
Remember - a more excellent way!  the way of God more perfectly
The Gift of Grace
Part II
A Clean Conscience

At least a clean conscience with God, anyway.

True deep joy comes from having a clean conscience! and only Christ can give us that clean conscience!
I Timothy 3:9 - Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
I Timothy 1:19,20 - This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;  Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:  Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Folks just do not know how to handle grace Biblically! Why do some folks have so much trouble with grace? What is the matter with folks today? Ya know, in some ways, Rick Warren is correct when he says that the fundamentalist church is as dangerous as the Muslim fundamentals and secular fundamentals.
What do you know about grace?
Grace in Paul's Epistles? - it seems just a few
Grace in Gospels? the'saved'  religious and confused think it is there 'without' truth, though, cuz who knows what 'truth' is... etc.
Grace in OT?  the holy devout and religious
Grace in the Future Books?  same crowd as the OT and confused Gospel folks falling for the modern application of grace!

Unmerited favor?
Is GRACE really just unmerited favor?
Does God really 'choose' His grace level for us today?  If so, based on what?

Do you honestly think God that has not taken you to the wood shed because you have been so good - been 'scripturally' baptised, etc.

If you think so, then listen up, friend; dad; momma; kids; pastors, etc.!  You couldn't be more wrong!

See "Grace I" for grace in Old Testament and Gospels

We have moved on to Paul's Epistles.
We are rightly dividing of course!

Any 'difference' in: Jesus Gospel and Paul's Gospel
Is it all just I Corintihians 15:1-8?

Paul preached a grace setup far more perfectly presented.

Christ walked the walk to take care of the LAW!
No law = no sin imputed - GRACE!
We have HIS GRACE because of what HE DID, not because of what we do!

Grace is not unmerited favour
He really has no choice now - He already made the choice in the garden.  He didn't want to, but He did the will of His Father!
Luke 22:42 - Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
II Timothy 2:13 - If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

He humbled HIMSELF so He could take care of sin by taking care of the law!
Philippians 2:8 - And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Romans 8:3 - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Christ is the end of the law for righteousness...
Romans 10:3,4 - For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Galatians 3:23-26 - But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

No law = God's grace - and mercy, too!
Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom:4:8: Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Romans 5:13 - (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
II Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Grace is THROUGH Christ, not ourselves!
Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 5:1,2 -Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:15 -  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Romans 5:17 - For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
I Timothy 1:14 - And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 1:6 - To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Galatians 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
