Sermon Series on Putting Paul's Gospel Into Our Family Design (based on chart tract)

First comes crucifying our flesh / world...
Galatians 5:24 - And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

...then we can rise & live our family life with Him as designed by Him which was then presented to and patterned for us by Paul.
I Timothy 1:16 - Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Colossians 3:1 -  f ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

• Yes, we are to be simple to that which is evil, but we are not to be ignorant of it, either.  We must be aware of this seriously dangerous movement!
• World-wide - thousands upon thousands
• Represents 'Christianity' today
• This is what 'everyone' is excited about - your family and friends and workplace, et.

• Flattery
• Marketing for Money - I Timothy 6:10 - erred from the faith
• Wrong Dividing - profane and vain babblings
• Leads folks to an increase of ungodliness in God's eyes
• Biblical Salvation is at issue here - II Thessalonians 2:11,12; Luke 8:12

• II Thessalonians 2:11,12
• I have often misquoted - not A strong delusion, nor does He send the lie.  Folks who reject the truth are given strong delusion so that they will believe a lie.
• The lie?  It is using the Great Commission / Gospel teachings from Jesus - Acts, etc. for doctrinal design of church today.  The devil uses the truth wrongly divided to make folks think it is really Jesus' teachings to us today.  Result?  Another Jesus - profane babblings. Deceived folks who think they have Jesus but in scriptural reality they have received another Jesus.  No wonder Jesus judges with Paul's gospel, not 'his' own from the gospels - the devil uses it.
• Folks we try to witness to are already beginning to have strong delusion - they ignore the obvious.  This is NOT the Tribulation yet so we must keep trying. Folks who are looking for the truth in their Bible, knowing something is wrong in their church - are still finding the truth through Paul's gospel.  So, we can't quit.  We must plant and water - that is ALL we can do.

God's purpose is not about US!
    It is not about learning live together, personal happiness, living a fulfilled life, living the life that God created for us 'our way,' etc.
    It is not about learning how to live that thrilling fulfilled life that God created for us.
    It is not about world peace designed from the gospels!

Christ came and took care of the law - He did not conquer sin!  It still exists, but it is not imputed to us - Amen!  Romans 7:15-25
    Romans 7:4 - dead to the law
    Romans 8:2 - free from the law of sin and death
    Galatians 3:13 - redeemed us from the curse of the law
    Philippians 3:8 - And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

We are NOW to ESTABLISH the law!
    Romans 3:31
    Romans 8:4
    But not the law in the flesh.  What law?  paul's gospel - his ordinances - his walk - his life - his teachings, etc.
    Not the OT law, nor the Gospel law - that was all BEFORE the cross.  Colossians 2:13-17

We are to establish Paul's preaching, not just about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There is so much more - so marvelously much more!

• Romans 2:16 - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
• Not just I Corinthians 15:1-5 - not just death, burial and resurrection  There is a walk to please the Lord involved now.  The life of the risen Christ, not the life of the Gospels Christ!
• II Timothy 1:9-11 - called according to HIS purpose and grace - not ours!
• Galatians 2:21 - A walk by Christ to please Christ!
• Romans 16:25,26 - preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, etc.
• Ephesians 3:1-12 - the fellowship of the mystery - vs 6, etc.
• Titus 3:5-7 - being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs, etc.
• Titus 2:15 - these things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority...

• live by faith - Romans 1:17
• live with Him - Romans 6:8; I Thessalonians 5:10 - His way, not ours!
• through the Spirit, not the flesh - Romans 8:12,13 (Purpose Driven lives through the flesh - the Gospel Jesus' life is a walk of flesh)
• live peaceable with all men Romans 12:18 - (doesn't mean having to accept, turn away, etc.  later sermon)
• the LIFE of the risen Jesus - II Corinthians 4:11
• live a life NOT unto ourselves - II Corinthians 5:15
• Grace is our teacher - Titus 2:11-14

God's purpose?  Colossians 1:19-23
WE are not His purpose!
We ought to seek to Live Holy, Not Happy!

Live to please Him, not us!
I Thessalonians 4:1 - Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Our family life is suppose to be all about and around and with DAD/HUSBAND!
The DAD/HUSBAND then is to design the family - with grace - and show them how to do it.
It is NOT about the wife's way!
Is is NOT about the children!
It is about DAD!  HIM, not us!
Now, reread the sermon notes and see how this stuff could be applied to the dad/husband.

Oh, hey - none of us have arrived, but this is the design!  Let's - WITH GRACE - aim for that design in our homes while we still have our children young enough to teach them the truth about God's purpose for us.  And men, let's get busy seeking how to fit Paul's gospel into our family before it is too late.

And for those who it is too late - now we know where we messed up, eh!  Well, there is still time - if you are still alive and seeking God's purpose.  Get that Bible marked and tell others.  They may be settling in with strong delusion, but there is still time to plant and water!
