That so-called
"personal relationship with Jesus" involves a two-way conversation, of
course you know that... Your talking to him through prayer and 24/7
thoughts, etc. AND His words TO you! You truly must have a 'relationship'
with your Bible in the same spiritual manner!
I Thessalonians 2:11-13 - As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
Milk or
Meat to Grow Up By
... or
Swallowing Without Chewing!
We have been
drinking a lot of milk over the years - even had some meat put on the table
- and many have gummed on them quite well. For some, it is time to
swallow and let those verses work in their lives - meaning some changes
to please God, no longer to please ourselves, or even others!
Some have to chew some before they swallow it - or they will just choke on the chunk!
Only swallowing them will we be able to grow up as a Christian.
It is time
to seriously put away some of our childishness - we must get a solid grip
on these rightly divided WORDS!
I Corinthians
13:11 - When I was a child, I spake as
a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became
a man, I put away childish things.
Ephesians
4:13 - Till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth
be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind
of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they
lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow
up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Book / Chapter / Verse = God's words of wisdom!
That is true... but...
...if wisdom comes before Book/Chapter/Verse =
We will begin with various verses - read them, I'll make a comment or two as you make a note somehow as to how to find them again as you live your day to day walk to follow Paul!
If you don't
know these specifically and where to find them, then you really don't know
them other than as a 'teaching' or a 'general awareness!'
True Commitment
is now in OUR hands today!
I Timothy
1:11-16 - According to the glorious gospel
of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ
Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting
me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and
injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which
is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus
Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them
which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
