Forsaking Paul's Words Already?

II Timothy 4:5-18
After Paul is finishing his ministry, he is challenged and immediately he was forsaken by those who 'supposedly' knew and followed Paul's words.

Does that happen today?  You bet!  and the word is "immediately" people will forsake Paul to put their family, their church, etc. above the importance of standing for Paul's words from the Risen Saviour!

Once again, we see that this is not meant to be a 'personal sermon' - but we see that the Scriptures has every part of life included somewhere in the pages of Paul for our pattern.  If only we could trust the Scriptures for our walk and daily decisions like we say we trust the Lord for our soul...

Just listen to the short sermon and hear how it may apply to you.

What can you do about it?  Stand for Paul's words!  Not James, not Luke's, not Jude's, etc.  We are to follow Paul's words!  The whole bible is there FOR us, but only Paul's words are TO us.  Why is that so hard to understand - why is that so hard to follow?

For some, as soon as Paul's words are 'gone,' they immediately get 'louder,' raise their skirt length,' cut those slits in, lower their necklines, cut their hair, go to places  they never went to when they were under the preaching of Paul's words, enjoyment goes back to the emphasis of fun - you know, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

They seem to go out of the way to try to make someone who tries to follow Paul's words to go backwards in their testimony and stand. Why is that?  We are suppose to grow in judgment - to approve things that are excellent - NOT GO BACKWARDS TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE PAUL'S WORDS!

And they try to knock down even someone close to them?  What is that?  What is going on in this world?  Even Paul's folks are giving in to their flesh.  Are they returning to Acts 2 and throwing out Ephesians 4 for the design and purpose of the local church?

Do they say they love Paul's teachings but just won't do them?  They have grace, you know!

Do we once again see Timothy and Titus to be just fictitious books to the Paul claimers?

We are seeing that folks choose not to endure sound doctrine.  Once again, we see Paul's words forsaken these days.

As a pastor and preacher, that is sad.  Just like Paul said, we become the enemy.  The more abundantly we love, the less we are loved!  Yes, I guess that is the way things are today!

The entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO us!
We learn from the "For" and we learn to apply the 'TO!"
