Do GC Folks Really Follow Jesus' Sayings?
People who say they follow the Gospels can't possibly know what that would mean in their life!
Folks who say they are following Jesus'  sayings really don't know what He really said!

Today, we basically read through a number of passages that are obvious "saying's" from Jesus to the disciples and/or Jews in the crowd.  He was NOT saying these to any Gentiles.

If you were to read the Gospels knowing that He was saying these things to the Jews, WHY in the world do folks think He is still telling us those things to follow today?

Well, the answer is because of the pastors today teaching Matthew 28:19,20 and Mark 16:16-20.
And yet, by reading these 'sayings' of Jesus, they must admit that they don't follow them all, nor can they - nor should they!

But are those directed to US today?
If you believe this to so, do you notice that many of these sayings from Jesus either contradict Paul's teachings and / or are not even included in his writings.  Do we pick and choose, do we ignore Paul, do we spiritualize it all, do we have to go to Bible school to know how to properly apply all this stuff?

No - these sayings were said to the Jews BEFORE Christ died,  They are FOR us but not TO us!  It is that simple!

We looked at these passages:

Matthew 5-8 - the infamous Beatitudes.  Just reading through those... I can't imagine why anyone would think we are suppose to do those.  They directly contradict the rest of the NT in Paul's Epistles.

Matthew 19:1 - go back to chapters 17:24 to 18 to see what those sayings were.

Matthew 26:1 - go back to Chapters 24,25 to see what those sayings were.

Mark 10:1-31

Mark 11:15-18
Luke 11:1-4

Luke 11:27,28 - a most amazing yet simple of how the Word of God, NOT Mary is what Jesus said to be blessed!

Luke 11:29-36

John 8 - all of the chapter.  Amazing to think there would be those who think we have to do those today, knowing what Paul has preached and what the Scriptures say for 'after' Christ died and rose again, and went on to Paul!
