Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2006 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2006
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15
Flockado
Part I
Introduction

Preaching Paul is Practical, and to live his ways is Possible, but it is Probable?
It seems more and more these days that it isn't!

There is more to Paul than just daily practicality today, though.
God has provided a major manner of life that Jesus Christ paid for, told Paul to show us as well as tell us!

We have lost it!  It is the way of true Christianity but it is NOT the way of modern Christianity!
There is great opposition than ever today - even from the brethren!

It has been lost by the lack of preaching of rightly dividing the word of truth!

Paul preaches a flockado's, not a flockadon'ts!

NO DOMINION - by Paul's Example!
II Corinthians 1:24 - not by dominion
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
Being a Christian father - husband - person is NOT about having dominion over the wife, the children, the 'others,' etc.

Are 'Christians" so carnal, so childish, etc. that they can not get the sound doctrine written TO them today?
Can they not endure sound doctrine?  Is it the Christian that verse is being directed to?  II Timothy 4:3,4

Are Christians today so biblically worthless and illiterate and busy that they NEED & WANT someone to be in dominion over them?

Well, they either choose the BOOK RD'd - or their FLESH!

WREST SCRIPTURES
It seems that we are wresting the Scriptures more and more as we near the Tribulation (II Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.)

They try to prove what they are doing / preaching, etc. is ok based on 'gain not 'contentment'... '  I Timothy 6:5,6 ... supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain.

They skizzle around with doctrinal detail and ignore the obvious - THE WALK to please God because they are now his workmanship!

MY PASTORAL & GRANDPORAL GOAL
My goal is to show folks & my family the Book in such a manner that God can work on them as they do their own reading and studying!

THE CHURCH / HOME FAMILY - similar pattern for both!
Early church age
    numbers
    Acts 2
    will follow Jesus by obedience

Paul's church age
edify and grow up individually because of his grace and nurturing guidance
    Ephesians 4,5

PARENTS design their children's lives - PASTORS design their people's lives!
based on those examples, parents / Christians today are either:
    a.  spoiled, too permissive, receiving riches, etc.
    b.  hard - no bending, tough, spanking, straps, belts, in control

Church is into apostasy!
Children are NOT INTERESTED in truth - 'old fashioned' church, archaic Bible, 'old hymns,' etc.
Parents think they see obedience to their strictness when the kids are young, but they see the rebellion when they get older!

DOMINION
I Corinthians 1:24 - Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
GOAL FOR FAMILY
I Timothy 1:5-11 - the goal for our church family as well as our home family!
the goal conclusion is verse 11 - Paul's ways and doctrine - manner of life, etc. see II Timothy 3:10

This is not a discipline issue - it is about the manner of life in one's home!
We can not choose Romans 2:2 OR Romans 2:3, we must choose BOTH - with an emphasis on Romans 2:3!

Ephesians 4:12-32 is the complete design of the church today - and of the home.
It is not to invite in the lost, although they are welcome.  But the local church is not to adjust to bring the lost in and drive the saved out by starvation!

Examples:
Mark those who we are NOT to follow - Romans 16:17
Mark those who we are TO follow - Philippians 3:17

Ladies should do, not don't:  I Timothy 5:14; I Timothy 5:10

II Timothy 2:22 - one don't but far more do's!

Titus 2 - all "do's" and no 'don'ts"
