Our Mind - Yesterday and Tomorrow!

Part I - Overview and introduction that so much of today's Christianity is of the flesh. Why are so many folks afraid of living the life of faith as taught by Paul?

Ok, Then What About the Mind?

The Right Side? There is a fight about doing or attempting to do what we should! II Corinthians 4:10,11 - Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. (And that is the risen Jesus that we are to live... see Paul's epistles.)
The Wrong Side? The other side of the battle is that we want to do what we want! (Then the Rightly Divided KJB, church, preaching, truth, morals, 'right vs wrong' etc. becomes your own personal enemy - just Paul said in Galatians, "Galatians 4:16: Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"!)

You see, it is our choice because the war is...
within ourselves... Paul had are hard time, too!
II Corinthians 1:8,9 - For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

...in Our Mind

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
II Corinthians 10:3-6

Romans 7:14-22

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,
and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God;
but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:23-25

These are after our mind...
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12

We all fight the same war...
...just make sure you are fighting the correct battle...
with the correct & only working weapon...

...the sword of the Spirit - the KJB1611!
THE BOOK!

Mind of Christ - only mentioned in I Corinthians 2:16 - For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Once again we see the 'brethren' making another pentecostal claim - but now with us having understanding about I Corinthians 13:10, we see that the mind of Christ is not IN US yet - it is in that Book! Thus in order for us to fight the mind battle, we must look to the mind of Christ - the King James Bible!

We don't need to utter all of our mind... Proverbs 29:11 - A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
No need to feel in despair, either - Psalms 31:12 - I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. That was all OT Psalms.

Now we need to rightly divide the word of truth concerning...
...the mind!

Yesterday - the Gospels:

Give it all, including your mind!
Give all or none!
Matthew 22:37,38 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
Luke 10:27 (including neighbor - tribulation, etc.) - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Can't even be doubtful! Luke 12:29 - And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
No lip service! Matthew 15:8 - This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (Some parents won't accept "lip" from their kids, but they will accept "lip service" - they would rather play the game with the happy look on the outside kid!)

Tomorrow - Hebrews to Jude - Tribulation:
Christ's mind from his earthly days of "suffering yet without sin" will have to be their weapon!

I Peter 4:1,2 - Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
We have the Book today - the Risen Christ from Paul's epistles; but they will have to have his mind from when he walked in the flesh for their example and 'weapon'!
Acts 2:17, they will have the Spirit of God upon their flesh in order to follow Christ's earthly design of His life.
II Peter 3:2 - This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Sure sounds like Acts chapter 2, eh!
I Peter 1:13 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (actaully, read all of verses 13-16 for the complete statement.)
II Peter 1:2 - Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
II Peter 3:18 - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

(faith is what grows today - we have His grace now)

Hebrews 12:3 - they don't dare faint! For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Yes, we consider him, too - but through the Book, it is the RISEN CHRIST that we are to consider for our example, not just the suffering one.

A "mind which hath wisdom" will be dealing with the antichrist - but not today - that is "tomorrow" stuff!

Revelation 17:9 - And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
So why are folks getting all caught up in this stuff today - they don't need to concern themselves about the antichrist or the gospels, they need to concern themselves about Paul!
We are to follow Paul - his ways, his epistles, his ensample, his manner of life, etc. II Timothy 3:10: But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, not getting entangled in the affairs of this life nor the Tribulation, etc., even if the stuff on Revelation is interesting in all those mailings we get around these parts from the 7th Day DisAdvantists!
The new bibles such as NIV and NLT are preparing folks for the mark of the beast? (NIV - Ephesians 1:13; NLT - footnotes on Revelation 13:8)
The minds of the major world leaders will be given totally to the beast! Revelation 17:13 - These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

What are you doing with your mind? Today!
Where are you aiming your children's minds? Today!
Gospels flesh after Jesus life in the flesh?
Future Tribulation preparation?
or Today - with Paul!

Let's rightly divide the word of truth again and see where our mind should be today!
