To what does the Risen Saviour
say to Paul that we should be fervent?
Listen to the audio
for more details than presented below!
Fervent:
1. Hot; boiling; as a fervent
summer; fervent blood.
2. Hot in temper; vehement.
3. Ardent; very warm; earnest;
excited; animated; glowing; as fervent zeal; fervent piety.
Fervently:
1. Earnestly; eagerly;
vehemently; with great warmth.
2. With pious ardor; with
earnest zeal; ardently.
Let us look
at what most preachers preach today about being fervent.
First - fervent prayer?
James 5:16
- Confess your faults one to another,
and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent
prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
-
1) Not to us today - it is a tribulation
message!
-
2) righteous man?
-
this again proves the tribulation
-
see I John
3:22 and compare to Paul's teachings on righteousness - His
or ours, etc...
-
3: Confess faults?
-
Why would they do that then - to be
healed? All tribulation application
Second - love
the brethren fervently?
-
I Peter 1:22
- Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying
the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that
ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
-
See I John
3:10-15; 23,24 to see why they will have to love the brethren
THEN like this states!
-
Is the love of the brethren our salvation
assurance today? - NO!
-
Is the love of the brethren even affect
our salvation today? - NO!
Third
- fervent charity?
I Peter
4:8 - And above all things have fervent
charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
-
Fervent charity?
-
Covereth the multitude of sins?
-
Again, that is TO the time of the Tribulation,
not to us today!
-
What does Paul teach about 'ignoring'
the walk of the brethren if it causes problems, etc.?
-
fervent charity? no!
-
depart the wrong
-
despise what was wrong
-
destroy the magnificence of it
-
prayer for the brethren
-
tears
-
grace
-
truth
-
mercy
-
longsuffering
-
patience
-
reprove
-
rebuke
-
get away from them
-
avoid, withdraw from such; not strive;
neither give heed; purge; reject; be not partakers; mark; not them; have
no company; not to company with; put away from among yourselves; cast off;
have no fellowship
-
deliver them to Satan
-
No fervent charity to cover a multitude
of sins.
-
They will HAVE to have charity during
the tribulation - they will need all the encouragement then can get, etc.
Bonus - Fervent heat to melt
the elements - earth, etc.
Those fervent verses are to folks during the Tribulation, NOT
TO US TODAY!
What
does Paul teach TO US on being fervent?
1.
Labouring fervently for others!
Colossians
4:12 - Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant
of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers,
that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
-
Compare to James
5:16
-
laboring fervently is different than
fervent prayer
-
one of you - not a 'righteous in his
own walk' man
-
that... do the will of God vs being
healed of faults during the tribulation
2. Fervent
in spirit!
Romans
12:10-11 - Be ... fervent in spirit;...
-
Read from 4-5;
9-11
-
in spirit?
-
"livingness" - our spirit
-
We talk about flesh and soul but never
much about 'our' spirit or 'in' spirit..
-
See what Paul says about 'our' spirit
and 'in' spirit..
-
Romans 1:9
-
I Corinthians
16:17,18
-
II Corinthians
2:12-17
-
Acts 17:16
-
Acts 18:5
-
Acts 19:21
-
Romans 8:16
-
Romans 7:6
-
I Corinthians
2:11
-
I Corinthians
6:20
-
I Timothy 4:12
-
II Timothy
4:22
-
Philemon 1:25
3.
Fervent towards Paul!
II Corinthians
7:4-11 - And not by his coming only, but
by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your
earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced
the more.
-
Do you have fervency to show the teachings
of the Risen Saviour to your friends, etc.?
-
Can you explain and show folks:
-
Gospels / Great
Commission / Acts 1-8 / Hebrews to Jude - not TO us?
-
Romans 7:15-25?
-
Romans 6:1
explanation?
-
Romans 6:15
explanation?
-
Romans 10:3?
-
Romans 10:34?
-
Ephesians 1:13?
-
Ephesians 2:2-22?
-
Ephesians 3:1-9?
-
II Thessalonians
2:1-12; then 13-17?
-
How to get 'comfort' from Timothy
and Titus?
-
etc., etc., etc.
-
more etc.
-
Can you?
-
Will you?
-
Do you even want to?
-
Fervently?
-
Fervent for you to learn this stuff
yourself?

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
