There is no real text today other than following along in your Bible in I Kings chapter 13 as I comment on each verse.  For those who don't have the time to 'listen' and wonder what I am saying in this sermon, here are some key verses I park on:

verse 2 - the man of God always uses the WORD OF THE LORD!
verse 3 - the man of God is against something - are you?
verse 4-6 - the physical always makes people get serious!
verse 7 - trying to buy the preacher!!!
verse 8,9 - but the man of God knew better - he knew the scriptures!  He was doing the work of an evangelist today!
verse 11 - what is the old prophet doing in Bethel in the first place - and why is he listening to his family instead of God?
verse 18 - HE LIES TO THE MAN OF GOD!
verse 19 - the man of God makes his fatal mistake!
verse 20-22 - the old prophet does the despicable - he blames the man of God for going against the scriptures when it was the old prophet who told him to come with him.
verse 24 - the man of God is killed by the lion - the devil in I Peter 5:8.  This is a great illustration for eternal security!
verse 25 - 32 -  This whole episode was a poor testimony to the town and to Jeroboam.
verse 33-34 - Jeroboam and the world go right on as they plan - they just witnessed another bad move by an old prophet and a man of God.

The lie by the old prophet destroyed this man of God's ministry.  That is what is going on from our veteran KJB preachers.  They are lying and are actually destroying the Book Only young preachers who want to just stay by the Book, while the old guys build their mega churches and bring in their garbage music.  Read and hear The Lies of the Old Prophets in the pm sermon.
