How to Escape and Live that Peace We Already Have With God
Romans 5:1-5
-
Christian folks today are being deceived with the teachings of physical
deliverance from "Jesus."
-
Paul preaches deliverance - see tract on Greater Commission - but he preaches
a spiritual deliverance through tough times.
-
Modern Christianity promotes promises that are to Israel; miracles, healings,
wonders, etc. They push what makes us happier and life easier!
They preach a 'mighty deliverance' and 'success.' That all makes
for a dangerous and frustrating and deceptively false gospel.
-
All the promises in the Book are NOT mine! Read the 'mail' that is
TO you - not someone else's mail!
Yes, we do escape some things by our salvation!
Hebrews 2:3
(spiritual blindness, worldly wisdom, bondage, the law, ways of the
world, inability to please God, etc.)
Yes, we do escape the Tribulation!
I Thessalonians 5:3
Yes, we do escape the judgment of God!
Romans 2:3
Yes, we escape the wrath of God!
Romans 5:9
And our works have not been judged yet!
I Corinthians 3
But for our daily living, we have
only one way to escape:
There hath no temptation taken you but
such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer
you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I Corinthians 10:13
Any sufferings are nothing when compared to
the glory that is coming up.
-
Romans 8:18 - For
I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to
be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
-
What's a little temptation, anyway? / There
are NO special testings for Christians! I
Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not
suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation
also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. God
does not single us out for some special trial other than His work in our
lives! See Philippians 1:6;
Romans 8:28.
-
Hour of temptation -
Revelation 3:10 - Because thou hast kept
the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon
the earth. (still only a trial
as described in 3:18
- the punishment comes during the tribulation! Revelation
6:17 - For the great day of his wrath is
come; and who shall be able to stand?
-
The trials are what we MUST go through today -
Revelation 3:18 - I counsel thee to buy
of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment,
that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not
appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
-
Light affliction - II
Corinthians 4:16-18 - For which cause we
faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed
day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
(See James 4:14)
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While
we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which
are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal.
Why do we struggle to SEE and then allow ourselves
to be discouraged (troubled and distressed / perplexed and
in despair? - II Corinthians
4:8,9)
when we DO see? One reason may be that we care for our children!
Read I Thessalonians 2:1-13
to your children / teens! Maybe even include I
Corinthians 11:1-4. Or are we being
selfish? Are we just being spoiled prideful Americans watching our
fulness of bread and abundance of idleness disappearing and knowing we
may become part of the poor and needy before the rapture rapts?
Today, we have the King James Bible
to help us escape and bear temptation!
Fruit of the Spirit is longsuffering!
Galatians 5:22,23
It is not God's design for us to escape away,
but to live through...!
(we are not enduring for our salvation, but because we are saved, we
can endure the times we are living in)
His strength is to be put to our inner man!
Ephesians 3:16 - That
he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit in the inner man;...
Colossians 1:11 - Strengthened
with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and
longsuffering with joyfulness;
Let's learn from the ant - Proverbs
6:6 - Keep going the direction we were started on! Don't
give up during these perilous times.
God has given us a way to escape!
