The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and study Paul's writings to apply the 'TO!"

Being Drawn
Away
Introduction |
Old Testament
-
Warning from being drawn away!
-
Psalm 28:3-5
- Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which
speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts. Give
them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their
endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their
desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation
of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
-
God gets them - His own people suffer
the consequences of their sin and disobedience!
-
God does not 'get them' today.
Gospels
-
God must be the
one to draw them to Christ
-
Matthew 16:16-17,20
-
John 6:44
-
John 12:32
Tribulation
-
They will have
to draw nigh to God to have him draw to you!
-
James 4:8
We
can still be "drawn away" today
...and towards perverse things!
We must seek Him in the the Bible
today or we will "be like them!"
Like them that
go down into the pit!
Unto
thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be
silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Psalm
28:1
Like the Gentiles!
This
I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as
other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding
darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that
is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling
have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness
with greediness. Ephesians 4:17-21
Paul
warns us about being drawn away!
-
For I know
this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you,
not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking
perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch,
and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every
one night and day with tears.
Acts 20:29-31
Paul extends this warning to us today
through the word of his grace today -
the King James 1611 Bible!
-
Acts 20:32
- And now, brethren, I commend you to God,
and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give
you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
-
I Corinthians
13:10 - But when that which is perfect
is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
Paul is warning us,
not shaming us!
-
I Corinthians
4:14 - I write not these things to shame
you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
Paul laboured mightily
and had great conflict for us,,,
-
Colossians
1:28,29 to
2:1-8
-
NOT to be spoiled by the tradition of
men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ!!
Jealous
over us with godly jealousy!
II Corinthians
11:1-4 - Would to God ye could bear
with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous
over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that
I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest
by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your
minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another
gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Remember - it is a fight of faith
I Timothy 6:12
