Disappointed
...in the lack of practical life-changing results of the preaching of the rightly divided word!

Disillusioned
..let down... .by what he HEARS people say and then what he SEES them do!  Talk more than walk!

Disgusted
... with the rebellious, argumentative and childish responses for just trying to be a pastor, not just a preacher.  Just like Paul said about him just being a good Jew wanting to know what God really said. It's not that we are starting a new religion or anything - just going past the Gospels with Paul - JUST LIKE THE BIBLE SAYS TO DO!  And like Brother Gipp preaches, from putting your heart out on the table for folks to whack - and then they still expect you to do it again.

Pride always rears it's ugly head when the preaching hits home!

Discouraged
... because it appears that there is still little difference in some folks from those who want their ears tickled by ear tickling preachers - the folks that can't endure sound doctrine, etc.
a - we know what we like
b - we know what we want
c - we know what we want to do
...so, we do it anyway - no matter what the Book says!!!

Dismayed
... at the lack of Christian discretion in normal conversation - even within their own home!
... at the lack of desire to be eternally rich - rather settle for riches now.  See Revelation 3:18
... at those who act like they are more concerned about nakedness now - than the nakedness that gives eternal shame. It is easier to just put on a dress then it is to do right in that dress.   See Revelation 3:18
... at those who really and honestly, keep their eyes closed (or let someone else keep them closed for them) in case they would see what the Lord is giving them an opportunity to see.  See Revelation 3:18

Displeased
... at the unnatural love the Bible warns us about concerning our children - and how "things" are always more important than training up one's children right!

Distracted
... from doing the work of the ministry because we are all too busy to sit down and just spend some quality time with that Book - upgrading notes, studying, seeking and searching for something personal, etc. and changing their lives as a result - all for His glory and honour.

Distressed
... that we seem to ignore the reality of the days we are in and we just go on living as if things haven't changed!
... that some folks still can't endure sound doctrine.  Man, how are they going to know to get out of the snare of the devil if they don't learn the truth about the cheese that they are still eating?
... but don't be - II Corinthians 4:8 - We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Discomfited
... frustrated - ya try to get things started and they fizzle before they are even given an opportunity to work.
... obstacle after obstacle - what's the point...  do you ever get that way at home?

Disturbed
... to see how the fruit of rightly dividing is still an unfruitful mess for some folks and families.  We have tried to spray for the bugs but they just keep bringing in more - the fruit just doesn't seem to be time for pickin, yet!

Paul Got His Help from God!
Acts 26:22

All through the book of Acts, Paul heard from Christ and was directly led by the Spirit of God - because he didn't have a Bible as do we today, thus the pentecostal confusion growing in the lives of non-Bible believing and non-reading Christians...

We must make the changes in our life so we can get into that Book - so that we can make those changes in our life that will give us that peace of God from the God of peace - and it will do the same for your family!
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Is the place of importance of your Bible reading/studying getting lower and lower?

• We are too busy!
• We have too many projects!  More important than ANYTHING?  Lost a lot of 'time?'  I'm amazed at how we allow our lives to be built around a home project.  Not even our own lives, but others as well... amazing!
• We allow kids interference instead of quality time with them!
• Things still appear out of order, ma'am!
• Are folks still doing things that they aren't suppose to do, anyway? (both women doing men's responsibilities and men doing women's responsibilities...?)
• Is our lifestyle and schedule going the way God has planned it?  or is it by our own design?
• Is anyone so far in debt to the world that they can't do anything for or from God?

And then you will have missed the greatest thing - an opportunity to please the Creator of this universe (Revelation 4:11)- God Himself - and  be approved ...not ashamed, by your Saviour Himself!
