Learning the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:

How To Die Well!
Part III
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant;
thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:
enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:23
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
II Timothy 4:6,7
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Psalm 23:4a

I hope you have read and grasped Part I and Part II...
and maybe even have listened to the audio of each one...
...maybe you have even marked your 'sword' for future use in helping others to live well to die well!

Tonight, let's look at a few more "L's" to see how we can seek to live well so that we can die well.

Here are a few more...
Ways we can LIVE WELL so we can DIE WELL...
...when the time comes!
be it suddenly or slowly...

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord;
and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Romans 14:7,8
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
I Corinthians 9:14

an add on to Learn well from Part I
if not, then you are learning from the world: see Mark 8:14,15
Ephesians 4:20  But ye have not so learned Christ;
Proverbs 22:24,25  Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:  Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

Proverbs 1:5  A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Proverbs 9:9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Isaiah 1:16-20  ...Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow....
Proverbs 16:21  The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. (Watch that tongue - and remember II Timothy 2:25 - Song:4:3: Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: - Song:4:11: Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; Song:5:13: His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.)
II Timothy 3:14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
Philippians 4:9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Be content - Philippians 4:11  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Be Led well...
Psalm 31:3  For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Psalm 23:2b  ...He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm 27:11   Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. (simplicity in Christ - II Cor 11:3)
Psalm 61:2  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 139:24  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Matthew 6:13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: ...   Well, we are there - Revelation 3:10
I Timothy 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

or be led the bad direction
II Timothy 3:6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
II Peter 3:17  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.  (Paul warns us all - Galatians 1 and II Corinthians 11)

Shine the Right LIGHT well
Not: Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; ...
What do you look at?  Matthew 6:22  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Luke 16:8  And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
John 3:19, 20  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
II Corinthians 11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
II Corinthians 4:4   In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Ephesians 5:14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
II Peter 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Psalm 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 27:1a  The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? ...
Psalm 36:9  For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Matthew 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (see faith today)
John 12:35,36  Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Loadeth well
Psalm 68:19  Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.  Selah.

Look well
Psalm 5:3  My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
II Corinthians 4:18  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Philippians 2:3  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Titus 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Hebrews 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Love well
a wrong love
Jeremiah 5:31  The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Psalm 18:1  I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
Psalm 69:36  The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
Amos 5:15  Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
John 15:12,17  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:17  These things I command you, that ye love one another.

I John 4:19  We love him, because he first loved us.  See also Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  I Peter 1:20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,  Revelation 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (from the Book, today!)
