The Entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO us!
We learn from the "For" and study to apply the 'TO!"

We are Called Out to Live Turned From Unto!
Part I

a.m. service

Remember the Sunday School Notes today:
See Ezra 9,10 on not separating themselves from the people of the lands, an unclean land, doing according to their abominations...

Another Old Testament Ensample:
See Psalm 106:34-45

It is still a rotten and cursed world!
We are reminded that today, 'the curses are still in effect.'

In other words...
Paul Preaches Separation!
(Once again, we continue to learn that following Paul has even more challenges, eh!)

It isn't all just about grace and doing what we want guilt-free now!
Romans 6:1-8 - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Paul uses words like:

Called out FROM the world - UNTO a living God! We are different now because we are now 'made' differently!
Ephesians 2:13 - But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Romans 6:18 - Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
II Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

As a result, we are to live differently!
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Philippians 2:15 - That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Called out:

Modern day inventions have taken us OUT of our homes to the world's ways...
Modern day inventions have brought the ways of the world INTO our homes!
Do we not see the evil in those two statements?

Thus were they defiled with their own works,
and went a whoring with their own inventions.
Psalm 106:39
Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright;
but they have sought out many inventions.
Ecclesiastes 7:29

Been bewitched?
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth,
before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Galatians 3:1
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world,
and not after Christ.
Colossians 2:8

We ARE to live differently!
Unfortunately, living - or even attempting to live a successful life of separation is not well received!
We must still work in the world - or leave earth!
So, is this separated life ONLY a command from the Old Testament to the Jews?

False starts - False responses:

Tonight
Part II

You know, as Christ cut our soul away from our flesh,
we would think that we could at least try to cut our flesh away from the world?

Tonight, in part II, we will answer those questions as we will consider in detail,
II Corinthians 6:14-18
