We learn from the "For" and study to apply the 'TO!"

But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

Introduction

Romans 1:9-32 to 1:1a
For Parents Towards Their Children!

Good family goal!
I Thessalonians 3:8-13
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God.  Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?  Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:  To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Do we, especially as fathers, hinder the gospel of Christ within our family?
If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather?
Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things,
lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
I Corinthians 9:12

Or do we just put forth OUR example & philosophy that only spoils our children from the
world's philosophy, vain deceit, tradition of men and rudiments of the world?
Colossians 2:8

Let's look to Paul and see how important EXAMPLE was to him!

Remember, we are looking to what the risen Christ taught to Paul by the revelation of Christ to be preached and taught and 'shewed' to the Church of God!!

Let's put ourselves in Paul's place!
We are asking our family to follow me!
I Corinthians 4:16: Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
I Corinthians 11:1: Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Ensample
Philippians 3:17: Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

I Thessalonians 1:7: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

II Thessalonians 3:9: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

Of us
II Corinthians 10:2: But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

I Thessalonians 1:6: And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

I Thessalonians 1:9: For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

I Thessalonians 4:1: Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

II Thessalonians 3:6: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Ourselves
Acts 6:4: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
or
Acts 23:14: And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

Rom 15:1: We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

II Corinthians 4:2: But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

II Corinthians 4:5: For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

II Corinthians 6:4: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

II Corinthians 7:1: Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

II Corinthians 12:19: Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

I Thessalonians 2:10: Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

II Thessalonians 3:7: For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

II Thessalonians 3:9: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

Me
Romans 1:12: That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

Romans 15:18: For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

I Corinthians 6:12: All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

II Corinthians 11:1: Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

Galatians 1:11: But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Philippians 1:26: That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

Philippians 3:7: But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Philippians 4:9: Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Colossians 1:29: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

I Timothy 1:12: And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

II Timothy 1:13: Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

II Timothy 4:8 - Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

II Timothy 4:16,17 - At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.  Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

II Timothy 4:18: And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
