A Life Beyond Rightly Dividing
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
But shun profane and vain babblings:
for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
II Timothy 2:15,16

Living beyond rightly dividing the word of truth
will not only keep you from increasing ungodliness...

...it will lead you to:

1.  ...God's will

Ephesians 5:14-17 - Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
John 6:39,40   And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
God's will is to raise us up as one of His sons being a joint-heir with His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ!   see Romans 8:16, 17   The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2.  ...spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit

Romans 1:11,12 - For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
I Corinthians 12:7 -  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. - The Holy Spirit is manifested to us through the Scriptures - not through tongues, the walk, gifts, etc.  John 14,16, I Thessalonians 2:13, etc.

3.  ...a more excellent way

II Corinthians 12:31 - But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

4.  ...a more abundant life

John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (abundant LIFE - not 'living!') (just like 'make free,' not 'set free!')

5.  ...abound more and more

I Thessalonians 4:1  Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Amen - praise God we have learned that we can & should be wanting to actually please God!  Romans 8:8,9 -  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Remember however, (and most modern Christians as well as the 'good' folks don't realize) that we must please God on His terms (see Paul), not ours (see Gospels, early Acts, early church and early Peter)! II Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

AND FINALLY
6.  ...even more division...
(...the right kind, of course!)

Jesus Christ came to bring division!
Luke 12:51  Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
John 7:43  So there was a division among the people because of him.
John 9:16  Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
John 10:19  There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

And if you have Christ in you, then division will happen!  Galatians 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Division from family & friends (by "their" choice)
Division from the world (that is" our" choice)

And don't forget, Scriptures warn us that we are not to have division among ourselves!
I Corinthians 1:10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
I Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

'Bunny Trail - Rightly Divided lesson:
The Millennium will have these verses in practical application:
I John 2:9: He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
I John 2:11: But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
I John 3:15: Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
I John 4:20: If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
Today, hating your brother is a spiritual hindrance, but not at in I John!  -- remember, the brethren are never our enemy!  (see II Thessalonians 3:13-15; Ephesians 6:12)

We must live beyond Rightly Dividing,
otherwise we can get out of balance and '"hypered"...'
A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Proverbs 11:1

hyper - excessive

hyper dispensationalist - ignore the stuff not 'to' us!
hyper soul-winner - be concerned about numbers; win them but don't feed them!
hyper-religionist - get caught up in today's modern ALPHA mentality Marketed Purpose driven churches!
hyper-personality - lead people in your church by your personal skills and personality!
hyper-pastoral authority - Claim Hebrews 13:7,17 for enforcement today!
hyper-doctrinalist - study doctrine only, ignore the 'walk' by claiming liberty!
hyper Calvinist - God picks em anyway, so don't worry about others!
hyper gracist - all grace and no walk - no separation, etc.
hyper baptist - baptist history and local church baptists emphasis
hyper churchist - emphasis on comfortable church full of activities and programs to do the parents job!
hyper critic - one who is hyper critical - no grace, no charity -  they have become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal

...any of which makes you a hypo-crite!
P.S.  Kingdom of God does not make as many hypocrites as does the Kingdom of Heaven!

Romans 10:2-4 - For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Let's Go Beyond...
Beyond Dispensations
Knowledge along with understanding of rightly divided Scriptures eliminates confusion!

Now, the WISDOM OF THE KOG WALK MUST SHOW as part of our testimony.  Not only must our life show what we say in & from the (rightly divided) Book, we must also be able to show others IN the Book why our life is the way it is and why we can handle it with so much joy & peace, etc.  ( and that can be done whether you serve God right or wrong!!!)

For the lost person, the law as the schoolmaster will lead them to Christ...
...but for the saved person, we are to establish the law, not ignore it.

To a Christian, the law is no longer for righteousness!
Romans 10:4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Romans 3:21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Romans 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We can walk to please God only be understanding rightly dividing - but right division also keeps us falling into the holiness and bondage trap that Peter warns about in II Peter 2:18-20!

"Christian!  We must go beyond just knowing dispensational truth!"

Beyond the Great Commission
Of course soul winning is important - I never said it wasn't!!!

Paul calls it soul delivering and is by faith, trusting, belief and confession with the mouth!
Do you "deliver" a baby or just "birth" one?

We are not only 'made free' as it says in John, we are to 'walk free' as Paul preaches...
and that is living beyond the Great Commission!

The Great Commission has signs etc. following...
...the Greater Commission leads us to a God-pleasing walk with joy, peace, etc. following!

We don't need manuals on How to Win Souls as much as we need Christians to just read the Word of God (KJB), apply it, live it with grace, peace, joy and BE the light from the God's ordained LAMP, the Lord's anointed!! Psalm 132:17  (doctrinally, it was David, then Jesus Christ, then the Book, now us!)
Romans 7:6   But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The Greater Commission  will DELIVER souls because people will ask you about the hope that lieth within!  I Peter 3:15

Folks must get out of the snare of the devil themselves - but we can show them the way as well as tell them!  II Timothy 2:26  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Save them and disciple them for sure, but deliver them towards Paul, not Peter!  The accepted and popular trend today in all modern programs and SS materials is to falsely lead people and kids back to the gospels!

"Christian!  We must go beyond the Great Commission"

Beyond Holiness
We ought not be trying to walk that perfect holy O.T. Beatitudinal Gospel walk; instead we should aim with the walk that Paul preaches & teaches - with grace, faith, hope, charity, and preaching!  The O.T. Gospel walk will be enforced in the Millennium - but for now, stick to Paul!  Romans 5:17,20,21; 6:14,15;11:6;  I Corinthians 3:10; 13:13, 14:1; Titus 1:3 and on & on...

Life beyond O.T. Gospel Holiness is a life of liberty but it must be still be scriptural (according to Paul) and God-pleasing while not controlling you, things in your life  must be expedient and edifying to yourself or to the brethren and you should not cause someone else to stumble!
I Corinthians 6:12  All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

I Corinthians 10:23  All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Romans 14:13  Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

I Corinthians 8:9  But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

Examples in living beyond holiness!
1.  Men - get a job, provide for your family, then work like a Christian is to work and count your master worthy of all honour - no matter what!  I Timothy 6:1  (men - humbleness!!)
2.  Women - wear a dress but then don't forget, it is to be more than just a dress - it is modesty at ALL times and there should also be shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.  I Timothy 2:9,10  (shamefacedness - bashfulness; excess of modesty; sobriety - habitual freedom from enthusiasm, inordinate passion or overheated imagination; calmness; coolness)
Otherwise, you are blaspheming the word and doctrine of God!

"Christian!  We must go beyond the holiness walk - to the walk of grace, faith, hope, charity and preaching!" (I Corinthians 13:13, etc.)

Beyond Happiness
Happiness comes from "doing" and joy comes from 'being!'

Yes, God does have things that we can do that would make us happy, but going beyond happiness we see peace and quiet in all godliness and honesty - and a joy from Jesus Christ Himself!.
John 17:13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

I Timothy 2:1-4 This is to be our prayer as a Christian - our goal - our 'blessing' - and this is 'fading' from the American way!  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

I John 1:4  And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

People can pretend to be happy, but they can't pretend joy - they can act it out during the day
but when they put their head on their pillow at night, their joy is absent - probably never even been there before...

Lost folks:
have no future (that they know of, anyway)
have no reason for living, (no different than an animal)

they are in deep & unfixable debt,
they are miserable on the inside and
are living a life full of unnatural affection!

ALL are either fighting the Holy Spirit
or are being given over to a reprobate mind!

Folks today:
have no idea what is going on these days,
many are mad, angry & frustrated!
They are depressed, distressed, and possessed!
They are bitter, hateful and spiteful towards their husband, wife and/or children!

Many feel forsaken, they are lonely and are living in total despair!
(hiding behind intense work, money, homes & toys)
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God!  II Timothy 3:4

Many people are already destroyed - they live with no real hope at all
other than  their idea on evolution, reincarnation, their 'good works,'
some even in their ability to talk anyone into anything (except God...).

Joy is missing in America these days - and in more and more Christians, as well.

"Christian!  We must go beyond wanting just happiness..".
Seek joy from the Lord/from the Book especially during 'horrible & fiery trials!"

Beyond Holidays
We know what they are:  Catholic-designed pagan days off from work or time-and-a-half salary.
They are also 'forced days' to send a card to someone at the local mall's financial benefit!

Holidays are NOT 'holy days' - they are nothing God pays attention to! Romans 14:5-8  One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.  He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.  For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Holidays can even be child spoilers and wreckers!  (but they sure do give good preaching illustrations about how folks handle 'gifts!')

Holidays can contribute to choking of the word of God...
...they can keep folks from hearing preaching...
...they can keep folks from being saved!

One will grasp the truth of holidays as one gets closer with God in fellowship with Jesus Christ through the King James Bible and prayer.  You will then develop a desire to please Him and to set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth, that includes world's response to holidays!

"Christian!  We must go beyond the Holiday thing!

Beyond the Sabbath Day
Note the same verse from above in Romans 14:5-8 along with Colossians 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

There is nothing wrong with giving God a day - two days - three days - every day all week - 24/7, as they say today!!!!!  Go to church any day - bible study - church fellowship - teaching nights, etc.  The first day of the week used to be the time they would set aside anyway...   but these days, we need to worship God everyday!

A Holy Sabbath day is just not in the NT - period!

"Christian!  We must go beyond the Sabbath lie and worship & praise God everyday!"

Beyond Reading the Scriptures
I encourage you to try to get beyond the "5/10 pages a day" rule!  It does make for a good disciplined reading plan for those undisciplined in self-control, but I really encourage you to read according to your interest as it develops.  When necessary, force yourself to read on if and when you lose interest.  The interest will return!

Scourby helps greatly - but this can be frustrating as well when you are driving and want to take notes of some thoughts the Holy Spirit gives you while you listen!

Meditation
Going beyond reading is meditating on what you have read!

I Timothy 4:15  Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
Psalm 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psalm 63:6  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
Psalm 119:15  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Psalm 119:23  Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
Psalm 119:48  My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
Psalm 119:78  Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
Psalm 119:148  Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word. (prevent in this manner - anticipates)

Christian!  We must go beyond your Bible Reading!

Beyond Studying the Scriptures
Next to Bible reading is studying specifics in (not about) that Bible.  Such as: subjects, events and even just a word study on His pure words!

It will keep you from profane and vain babblings - it will keep you from more ungodliness!  II Timothy 2:15   Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
It will correct you where you need corrected!  II Timothy 3:16
It will instruct you in righteousness where you need to be instructed!  II Timothy 3:16

Take the time to prepare your sword for future 'battles,' 'needs,' etc

Going beyond your studying is to 'learn' what you study...
THEN apply what you have studied!
In other words...

CHANGE YOUR LIFE because of what you have studied!

Be approved unto God - then you won't be ashamed when He comes!

Christian!  We must go beyond studying your Bible
CHANGE YOUR LIFE BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU ARE STUDYING!!!

Beyond Witnessing
There are tracts you can hand out!
There is the fair booth you can work in!
There are discussions you can get yourself into!
There are times you can show someone in your Bible what it says!
There are ways to 'enjoy' witnessing to folks - whether they appreciate it or not!!
There is a peace knowing that you have stuck up for the Lord - take a stand, as unpopular is it is!

Go beyond witnessing by making sure you are more than just 'telling' them - SHOW them that Book by your own Biblically defined love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  Meekness, temperance ... as well as a crucified flesh followed by a risen life!  Galatians 5:22-24  Colossians 2:12,3:1

"Christian!  We must go beyond the 'normal' witness!
We must also be a true witness in our walk, not a false witness!"
And that is a witness to the Kingdom of God, not KOH!

Beyond Music
Go ahead - make the call - go beyond music.

If you don't know enough about music to protect yourself, your family, your children, etc. then throw it out!  It is a voice that can destroy!  I Corinthians 14:10  There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.  Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

There is a music that can fit Philippians 4:8 - but if you don't know it, or know how to 'find it' - then stay away from it if all possible!   Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  There is peace in a music that pleases God!  see verse 9!

And... learn about that PERFECT MUSIC that is music to God's ears - and yes, ANYONE can make that music!
Do you know what it is?  Write to me and I will tell you!  It is fantastic!!!

Psalm 95:1  O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

"Christian!  We must go beyond music - learn about it or burn because of it"

Beyond Friendships
Learn about the Brethren and your responsibility towards the church family - and then do things 'for' them, not just 'to' them! Love one another; pray for one another, prefer one another; don't do 'pay backs!' receive one another, admonish one another, serve one another, forbear one another, forgive one another, edify one another, exhort one another, care for one another, comfort one another, depart from one another properly, restore one another, provoke one another to good works, submit to one another, help in a brother's need and have charity and grace for each other -  and judge not one another!

Love 'em and live with 'em but choose the right ones!
Mark the bad ones - Romans 16:17  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Mark the good brethren - Philippians 3:17  Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
Mark the bad brethren - II Thessalonians 3:14,15  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Our brethren are never to be our enemy!

Learn your place among the body and be content - and do your part!
Romans 12:3-9; I Corinthians 12:12-30

Then edify the brethren!
Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
I Corinthians 14:12
You can be in the world, but not of the world!
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
John 17:15

Never be the friend of the world!
Romans 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

II Corinthians 6:14-18  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

"Christian!  We must go beyond just a friendship with the brethren...
We must be a good member of the family!"

Beyond the Local Church
Saved?  Now, EAT!

See I Corinthians 12:12-30 and Romans 12:3-8 to see how you should fit into your local assembly and even in your universal family!  The local church is still an important part of the Christian walk - a VERY important part.  It is where we grow as Christians - the local church is where we are fed!.  See Ephesians 4,5!

The purpose of the local church today is to feed the sheep to the point where the lost world should want what you have by what they see in you - the Kingdom of God, not the Kingdom of heaven!

We ought not be changing the church to 'attract' the 'seekers' - nor should we change the gospel to get folks in!  (that is another sermon)

"Christian!  We must go beyond the normal church scene - We can't go looking for fast food -
...come to church 'hungry' to be fed the right food from the Book - not from the church!"
Come hungry and expecting and prepared for a full meal!

Beyond Our Children
You had them...
...now, don't raise them - and don't let the world train them!
It is YOUR job to train them!

Proverbs 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

And don't let them 'grow up' on their own, either!
Proverbs 29:15  ... a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Go beyond today's children's humanisticly designed growth plan - Watch the influence and then do something about it!
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences
contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Romans 16:17

P.S.  Home school is more than just doing schooling better than the public school!  It is about training a boy to be a man of God in the Kingdom of God and a girl to be a godly woman in the Kingdom of God!

Home schooling is the freedom to incorporate the Bible and God's way into the family - not just into the children!

If we did as good with "indoctrination" as the world does, we would do great, eh!!!
They are dedicated to 'change' your child - are you as dedicated (if not more) to not let it happen?

The WAY to go beyond as a parent is to BE THEIR BIBLICAL EXAMPLE - as well as should be the brethren!!!

"Christian, We must go beyond today's worldly designed parenting skills - and get involved - Biblically!"
It's all in the Kingdom of God - NOT the kingdom of heaven!

Beyond Our Self
We know (I hope) that we a body, soul and spirit; but we also are aware that the soul is cut away from the flesh
making us complete (except for the body)!  Colossians 2:10-15.

God is not done with our body yet - and He really isn't working on it now, either!
Romans 8:20-23  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Colossians 3:4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Romans 7:24,25  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Ok, then to live beyond our self -  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  Colossians 3:5

Crucify the flesh - put on the new man - and keep him on - in order to live the RISEN LIFE!
(What will it be like when we are 'risen'???  Well, be that way now!)

Remember - it is the sin that dwelleth within that causes all of our flesh war!  Romans 7!

Don't let the war get you down and out.
STAND!
I Thessalonians 3:8  For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
Philippians 1:27: Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Philippians 4:1  Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Ephesians 6:11: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

How to go beyond self and on to the Risen Life is all determined on whether you feed the flesh or the Spirit!
Romans 8:4,5 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.   For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

It's all about God's two wills for us - eternal salvation (raise HIM up) and eternal inheritance (raise IT up) - it is about not us!  He gave us HIMSELF!  Our part as a Gentile is to make his chosen people jealous of all that God has done for us and to us!  John 6:39,40; Genesis 22:8; Romans 10:19; 11:11,14

As a plaque states in my office from Bro Peacock
"Make Every Decision in Light of Eternity and the Judgment Seat of Christ!

"Christian!  Get over yourself and get on with God through the Lord Jesus Christ
- the Holy Spirit and the Holy King James 1611 Bible!"

But We Can't go Beyond the Book!
Don't even try!
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth:
for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalm 138:2
