Ashamed At His
Appearing?
|
Yes, we should be, but we won't be!
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown
of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous judge, shall give me at that
day: and not to me only,
but unto all them also that love his appearing.
II Timothy 4:8
I am going to show you tonight whether or not you will love his appearing
- without a shadow of a doubt, that can be proven!
I can even show you IF you would even just love your disappearing -
without a shadow of a doubt, that can be proven!
I.
Is loving your disappearing an ok way to look at it?
Consider Paul
-
Romans 7:24,25
-
Philippians 1:21-24
Paul hated the battles with his flesh - he didn't just want out, he wanted
to be with the Lord, but he also knew he was needed here!
II.
WHEN HE ARRIVES
(either through the rapture or death)
You will be:
-
Giving Account
-
Matthew 12:36,37 - of every worD
-
Romans 14:12 - of every worK
-
I Corinthians 3:13
-
Judgment Seat (How to tell a Greeker who lies about his KJB? They
say Bema Seat instead of Judgment Seat)
-
Your life's menu changes - the future now includes the White Throne Judgment
(Daniel 7:9,10); Jesus Second Coming; Millennium, 144,000 sing, etc. etc.
-
Receive your inheritance - Colossians 3:24
-
Receive 'any' reward - I Corinthians 3
III.
You will suddenly really want to:
-
Thank Him - only YOU know ALL that He has done for you!
-
Praise Him - do you know the true Biblical praising that we should be doing
about him? See Specific
Topics of Praise
-
Worship Him - some folks will be REALLY surprise concerning the worship
He will accept! (See Acts 17:24,25)
-
Rejoice!
IV.
Question - "Will you really be ashamed at his appearing?"
We say, "Yes!"
lazy, wretched, prideful, fullness of bread, spoiled, not doing
right to and for others, our parenting skills stink, selfishness, we are
giving our children fulness of bread and making our children 'rich' which
then brings in erring from the faith and sorrows, etc. church attendance,
miss the preachings, little learning, poor witnessing and testimony - etc.
Is that what Christ will see when He appears?
The Book says, "No!"
read on...
V.
Yes, of course! We can and are doing shameful things today!
-
I Corinthians 6:5 - not being able
to judge a specific situation correctly
-
I Corinthians 11:14 - long hair on
a man
-
I Corinthians 14:35 - a talking and
leading woman in the church
-
I Corinthians 15:34 - not telling others
about the truth of God
-
Ephesians 5:12 - speaking of those
things of them in secret
-
Philippians 3:19 - minding earthly
things like a lost person does
-
II Thessalonians 3:14 - not living
life as Paul's preachings and teachings and ways from his epistles say
we should!
But folks, contrary to some husbands towards their family, it was NOT
Paul's mission or ministry to 'shame us' into doing right!
-
I Corinthians 4:14
-
II Corinthians 13:10
-
II Corinthians 10:8
The Great Commission approach - wrongly dividing is destructive, not edifying!
Preachers today ( the Bible guys, anyway) tend to be destructive in
their bondage and guilt producing sermons - constantly putting folks down
- yes, we deserve it, but putting the screws to folks today is not the
ways and manner of Paul!
Romans 14:22 - we do a fine job
condemning ourselves - but we shouldn't!
(Now remember, I am not talking about using flattery, grace abuse and
use, ignoring sin, etc.)
The Bible - the Scripture -
II Timothy 3:16,17 - encourages us how to know what is wrong in
our lives,
how to correct it and how to change to do right!
WE DO NOT NEED TO BE ASHAMED WHEN CHRIST APPEARS!
The teaching of 'shame' comes from:
Mark 8:38
Luke 9:26
I John 2:28
Revelation 16:15
Notice what books of the Bible those are in.
We should NOT be ashamed of His words and ways! Romans
1:16
We should NOT be ashamed of His testimony - II
Timothy 1:8
We should NOT be ashamed of Paul and what he preaches and teaches to
us - II Timothy 1:8
We will NOT be ashamed at his appearing
-
Romans 9:33
-
Romans 10:11
-
II Timothy 1:12
not because of our bad works or lack of success, etc.
-
Hope maketh us not ashamed! Romans
5:5
-
Rightly dividing tells us not be be ashamed!
II Timothy 2:15
-
We are now made his righteousness -II
Corinthians 5:21
-
We are free from the law of sin and death -
Romans 8:2
-
We will be made like his body -
Philippians 3:21
See - we are NOT to be ashamed at His appearing!
He paid for our shame!
CONCLUSION!
So... if you will not be ashamed at his appearing...
DO YOU LOVE HIS APPEARING?
DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO HIS APPEARING?
Are you sure?
a) Do you look forward to your Bible reading? - Do you
love the appearing of your bible and bible preaching? - Do you have a love
of the truth? Remember John 1:1... you too busy? no desire?
You won't love his appearing, either!
b) Do you escape into your Bible or do you just want to get
out of a situation so you change your environment etc. by going
to movies, videos, tv, sports, house, toys, work, food, etc.
See - you now know if you will love his appearing or not!
Change that shameful life today for
His glory, but remember,
He even paid for your shame!
Learn to love his appearing by loving the appearing of
your King James Bible
There ya go!
