How Do They Answer
These?
|
Part IV -
Romans
6:1-14
More verses
that can be answered only by following Paul ONLY!
Two
Questions
This is the essence of Paul!
Paul knew that these two questions will ALWAYS be asked when we try
to tell folks about his teachings of chapter 5!
1. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2. Shall we sin, because we are not under
the law, but under grace?
First Question!
1: What shall
we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
-
key words - "in sin" - not sinning, etc.
-
actually meaning in sin... in the flesh - not circumcised
- dead in sins, etc.
-
in the 'existence of sin'
-
sin revived, and I died - Romans 7:9
-
Adam - I Corinthians
15:22 - For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
-
just slowly read verses
2-14 for the answer and explanation!
Answer
2: God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
-
God forbid - of course not - it is not even
possible!
-
God forbids it - He won't let it happen again!
-
It isn't "Of course we won't do 'sinning' anymore...!"
- it is because Christ took care of sin!
-
now that we are dead to sin, how shall we live
any longer therein?
-
we can't!
-
we are dead to sin!
-
there is no law to the believer!
-
Romans 10:4 -
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
-
all things are lawful!
-
(remember, not all things are expedient, etc.)
-
I Corinthians 6:12 -All
things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things
are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
-
do you know the others?
-
must edify
-
not as occasion to the flesh
-
not cause one to stumble
-
not be brought under the power of
-
we were baptized into his death!
-
we are buried with him by baptism into death
-
not water baptism
-
that was John & Peter's ministry - remission
of sins!
-
John - Mark 1:4 -
John
did baptize in the wilderness, and
preach the baptism of repentance
for the remission of sins.
-
John - Acts 19:4
- Then said Paul, John verily baptized
with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should
believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
-
Peter - Acts 2:38
- Then Peter said unto them, Repent,
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
-
one baptism - Ephesians
4:5 - One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
-
spiritual baptism -
I Corinthians 12:13 - For by one
Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles,
whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
-
It is like we are dead, thus we are freed from sin!
-
sin and death hath no more dominion over us!
-
we then walk in newness of life!
-
we shall be ... in the likeness of his resurrection!
-
We are quickened
-
Ephesians 2:1 -
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
-
Ephesians 2:5 - Even
when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
-
Colossians 2:13 - And
you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath
he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
-
we are made alive
-
I Corinthians 15:22 - For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
-
we are made his righteousness
-
II Corinthians 5:21 -
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him.
-
we are his workmanship
-
Ephesians 2:10 - For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which
God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
-
we have put on the new man
-
Ephesians 4:24 -
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness
and true holiness.
-
Colossians 3:10 -
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image
of him that created him:
-
we are a new creature
-
II Corinthians 5:17 -
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new.
-
Galatians 6:15 -
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision,
but a new creature.
-
we are living with him!
-
As did Christ, we are to reckon ourselves the same
... we die once...
-
we live unto God!
-
through the teachings of the risen Saviour to Paul
and the KJB today!
-
we are alive unto God!
-
Colossians 3:1-3 -
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with
Christ in God.
-
Acts 26:20 - But
shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all
the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent
and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
-
to repent is not to stop sinning, it is to turn to
God and He will take care of 'sin!'
-
Then, we do things that Paul teaches!
-
He is our wise masterbuilder!
-
It is our CHOICE now - we should not let sin reign
by 'giving in to our flesh, emotions, mind, friends, choices, etc.!
-
It is our CHOICE now - not to obey the lusts of our
flesh!
-
We grow to learn to make the correct choices!
-
Philippians 1:9,10
- And this I pray, that your love may
abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may
approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence
till the day of Christ;
-
What we do wrong will burn in the judgment seat of
Christ!
-
I Corinthians 3:10-15
- works based on Paul's teachings as our building blocks!
-
Neither yield our members as instruments of unrighteousness
unto sin...
-
We are to yield ourselves unto God!
-
Yes - sin does not have dominion over us!
-
We are not under the law, but under grace!
The above explanation was taken from
the following verses - read them slowly - meditate on them!
-
3: Know ye not,
that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into
his death?
-
4: Therefore we
are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised
up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk
in newness of life.
-
5: For if we have
been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in
the likeness of his resurrection:
-
6: Knowing this,
that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin.
-
7: For he that
is dead is freed from sin.
-
8: Now if we be
dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
-
9: Knowing that
Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion
over him.
-
10: For in that
he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
-
11: Likewise reckon
ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
-
12: Let not sin
therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts
thereof.
-
13: Neither yield
ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves
unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments
of righteousness unto God.
-
14: For sin shall
not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
