Then, turn to John 18:37,38.  Pilate asks the big question and gives the typical follow-up:
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.
Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.  John 18:37,38

Note that Pilate obviously hears Jesus speak, but does he really 'hear his voice?  Obviously Pilate is not of the truth.  He doesn't even know what truth is and he was standing face to face with Truth.

Then also note that Pilate doesn't bother to wait for an answer! Why should he?  He wouldn't respond properly to it, anyway.  I believe He already knew the answer, but didn't know what to do with it!  He had truth right there in front of him but didn't hear it!

God is called the God of truth - Psalm 31:5
God's works are done in truth - Psalm 33:4
God must be worshipped in spirit and truth and seeketh such to worship him - John 4:23,24
God will be nigh to them that call upon him ... in truth - Psalm 145:18  (rightly dividing the word of truth - II Timothy 2:15; established in 'present' truth - II Peter 1:12)

God's word is truth - John 17:17  ...thy word is truth.
John 1:1,14  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us... God's word is truth, Jesus is the Word, thus Jesus is truth!

Jesus brings grace and truth - John 1:17
Jesus is the truth - John 14:6
The truth is in Jesus - Ephesians 4:21  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Jesus bears witness to the truth. Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice.  John 18:37b

Gods' Spirit is truth - I John 5:6  This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

Psalm 85:11   Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Psalm 100:5  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 117:2  For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.  Praise ye the LORD.
