entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" from the entire Bible and study Paul's writings to
apply the 'TO!"

Treasures
and Riches from Following Paul -
In Your Own Manner of Life -
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory
and praise of God. Philippians 1:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11
These treasures are only available from following
Paul from his Epistles: Romans to Philemon, rightly divided.
We are not talking about following Paul with the brain - knowing the doctrine,
etc. but that is a good start.
We are not talking about following Paul be being able to take the 'hard
reproof preaching,' but that is a good start.
We ARE talking about being corrected, as II Timothy
states.
We ARE talking about being instructed in righteousness, as II
Timothy states.
We ARE talking about 'change' in our manner of lives to follow Paul as
he states in Philippians 4:9 along
with Acts 26:16-20.
We ARE talking about being a sincere Christian from the HEART. You
have made a change or two or more... you have lost your friends, family,
etc. You not only have lost friends, etc. but you have 'gained' the
sufferings and reproaches of being the sincere Christian - making those
hard decisions to follow the risen Christ, etc.
If you are sincerely following Paul - or at least really trying - there
are some of the benefits you will receive in your life!
Reminder of the "Following Paul" verses:
I Corinthians 4:16
- Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
Philippians 4:9 -
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and
seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
I Corinthians 4:17
- For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and
faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which
be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
I Corinthians 11:1
- Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Philippians 3:17 -
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye
have us for an ensample.
I Thessalonians 1:6 -
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word
in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
II Thessalonians 3:7 -
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves
disorderly among you;
II Thessalonians 3:9
- Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto
you to follow us.
I Timothy 6:11
- But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
II Timothy 2:22 -
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Colossians 2:2
- That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and
unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement
of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Romans 2:16 -
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according
to my gospel.
Romans 16:25 -
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and
the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began,
I have spent the last 5 days in our church
'booth' at our local county fair - so there has not been time to type up
the notes for today's SS lesson. However, here is the scan of John
chapter 3 as we continue on with What's in the Gospels FOR Us. I
hope this is satisfactory in aiding you in these studies and sermons. -
