Jesus is warning the Disciples about their own persecution
that was about to come - The Great Commission
and if accepted, right into the Tribulation - thus we
have all the Trib books (Hebrews to Jude)

Jesus' statement to the disciples - what does
it all mean to them?
16: A little while, and ye shall not see
me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the
Father.
-
Possible explanations?
-
Persecution coming - soon they will be dead and soon
to see them in heaven? Well, yes...
-
Great Commission coming? Well, yes...
-
Tribulation coming? Well, yes...
-
He is departing soon? - Acts
1 - Well, yes, he was...
-
He will soon be the living Saviour sitting at the
right hand of God? Well, yes...
-
He will seeing them right after his resurrection?...
Well, yes...
-
Matthew 26:32
- But after I am risen again, I will
go before you into Galilee.
-
But yes, like He said to them, He still must first
go see the Father...
-
The real reason for what He said?
-
To prove once and for all that he was the Son of
God!!!
But they didn't understand what he said!
17: Then said some of his disciples among
themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye
shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and,
Because I go to the Father?
18: They said therefore, What is this that
he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

They often didn't understand what Jesus said to them!

John 10:24 - Then
came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make
us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

This time, His words were plain & simple!
-
He used plain speech!
-
He did speak in parables this time!
-
Matthew 13:13:
Therefore
speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they
hear not, neither do they understand.

Paul also said: II
Corinthians 3:12 - Seeing then that we
have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
-
The disciples should also have had that hope, after
all, they had been with him "in real" life!
-
Today, we should even have more hope - and should
then be able to and desire great plainness of speech!

Knowing what we know from Paul and the Risen Christ
and the KJB.
Jesus already knew they didn't understand...
19: Now Jesus knew that they were desirous
to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that
I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while,
and ye shall see me?

Jesus knew already they were having problems with
what He said to them.
-
So does the KJB with us today!
Now He explains it agina only in more detail
Weep and lament - turned to joy!
20: Verily, verily, I say unto you, That
ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be
sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
-
Yes, there was much weeping and lamenting just over
his death & yes, the world rejoiced greatly...
-
...but there was also great joy in that He rose from
the dead!
-
Matthew 28:8 -
And
they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy...
-
We forget (or have not been taught) this, but we
must remember to include the Great Commission as well as the Tribulation
that was coming to them in their near future.
-
Acts 1-8 shows
how much those disciples were hated by the world before the Tribulation!
-
Revelation 11:10
shows the rejoicing of the world when they see the persecution of Moses
and Elijah - that is Tribulation!

Note: Nothing has been said about Paul
and the mystery, etc.

It was kept hidden.

...which in other ages was not made known unto
the sons of men... Ephesians 3:5

...which from the beginning of the world hath
been hid in God... Ephesians 3:9

But given to Paul!

Colossians 1:25: Whereof
I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given
to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Ephesians 3:8: Unto
me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that
I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Ephesians 3:1-3: For
this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye
have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to
you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery;
Tribulation and anguish followed by joy!
21: A woman when she is in travail hath
sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the
child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born
into the world.
UnRobbable Joy
22: And ye now therefore have sorrow: but
I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man
taketh from you.
Ask In My Name? Today?
23: And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my
name, he will give it you.

In that day ( not today)!

Ask the Father in his name!
-
He would give it them!
Hitherto
24: Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my
name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Ye have asked nothing in his name!
-
Now, ask in his name and their joy would be full!
-
That should be the same joy with us because of the
KJB and Paul, etc.
The time cometh very soon to be NOW!
25: These things have I spoken unto you
in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in
proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
-
Only one more event (chapter 17) before the arrest
in the garden.
-
He will shew plainly the Father then!
At that day!
26: At that day ye shall ask in my name:
and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

At that day... vs

When he cometh, He won't pray the Father for them!
Why not?
27: For the Father himself loveth you,
because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
-
They will have their own access to God because they
believed what they should have believed - that He was their Messiah, etc.
and was from God and was God - DEITY!
-
This all proves again that the gospels are all about
the Jews believing that Jesus was the Son of God; their Messiah; the Saviour,
etc. and was God manifest in the flesh, as Paul stated!
-
The smoke trail today of 'saying' "In His Name, etc."
covers up the truth about 'asking in his name' today.

The Holy Ghost will be given to them - the Comforter
- John 14
The Plan was Fulfilled!
28: I came forth from the Father, and am
come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
The Got It Finally - they said they believe!
29: His disciples said unto him, Lo, now
speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
30: Now are we sure that thou knowest all
things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe
that thou camest forth from God.

This was the issue for the gospels - not trusting
and faith, but believing that He came forth from God.
-
That is also the issue with modern bibles - taking
out the deity of Christ!
But did they REALLY believe?
31: Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
The hour has come!
32: Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now
come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave
me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

They left him!
-
They scattered about and left Jesus alone!

Peace finally for the disciples now!
33: These things I have spoken unto you,
that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
-
So they would have peace with all that is coming
up in their lives!

John 14:27: Peace
I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give
I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
-
Remember, the peace wasn't there during Jesus' time
on earth.

Luke 12:51: Suppose
ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

But that peace would finally come after He would
leave - even though they were still soon to be receiving tribulation and
persecution in their lives...

John 14:16: And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he
may abide with you for ever;
-
John 14:18: I
will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:26: But
the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26: But
when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify
of me:

John 16:7: Nevertheless
I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I
go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will
send him unto you.
Our peace today is also based
on the Holy Ghost - but through Paul's teachings of the Risen Christ through
the King James Bible!
