The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and study Paul's writings to apply the 'TO!"

Sincere Christian's Faith |
Introduction
Our strength is GRACE!
-
His grace is sufficient!
-
II Corinthians 12:9 - And
he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made
perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
-
Be strong in the grace...
-
II Timothy 2:1 - Thou
therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
-
Grace to stand!
-
Romans 5:2 -
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
So, as we do have that strength in our lives...
FAITH IS OUR SHIELD
...are we still letting our shield drop?
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:16
FAITH - to persuade, to draw towards any thing, to conciliate;
to believe, to obey.
1. Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared
by another, resting on his authority and veracity, without other evidence;
the judgment that what another states or testifies is the truth
2. The assent of the mind to the truth of a proposition advanced
by another; belief, or probable evidence of any kind.
3. In theology, the assent of the mind or understanding to the
truth of what God has revealed.
Do we 'lose faith' and become weak when things get tough - or hurtful?
-
Jeremiah 18:7 -
And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices,
and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
-
Do we give up on doing God's way?
-
We will just go do it all our way - and/or the worlds
way.
-
Return to acting worldly again, dressing worldly
again, buying worldly things, etc.
-
Doing it 'your' religious way...
-
Do we become like those that are weak in the faith?
-
Romans 14:1 - Him
that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Remember, our fight is for faith!
-
I Timothy 6:12a - Fight
the good fight of faith
-
II Timothy 4:7 -
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the
faith:
We are to live by faith!
-
Romans 1:17 -
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as
it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Our faith is counted for righteousness!
-
Romans 4:5 - But
to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly,
his faith is counted for righteousness.
Paul preaches the word of faith!
-
Romans 10:8 - But
what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart:
that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Faith - our SHIELD...
-
Our shield
Ephesians 6:16 - Above
all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked.
-
Fiery darts of the wicked
-
Ephesians 6:11,12 - Put
on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles
of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.-
-
Timothy 3:12 - Yea,
and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
-
We need His shield while following Paul's teachings, not the teachings
of the Gospel Jesus time / Modern Christianity and folly being manifest
today.
-
II Timothy 3:10 - But
thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering,
charity, patience,
-
Philippians 4:9 -
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and
seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
-
I Corinthians 4:17 -
For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and
faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which
be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
-
We need the shield of faith during...
-
times of afflictions from following Paul!
-
II Timothy 1:8 - Be
not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his
prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according
to the power of God;
-
times of learning the fellowship of his sufferings - from following Paul's
way!
-
Philippians 3:10 - That
I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of
his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
-
times of labour and suffering reproach for trusting and trying to follow
a living God according to Paul!
-
I Timothy 4:10 - For
therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living
God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
Not grief and frustrations, etc. from Worldly crashes and earthly
afflictions
-
profane and vain babblings
-
reap what we sow
-
temptation
-
snares
-
self-developed
-
Satan's own
-
trusting in uncertain riches
-
foolish and hurtful lusts
-
drowning in destruction and perdition
-
erring from faith
-
self-pierced sorrows
-
being spoiled through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of
men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
WE MUST HAVE FAITH IN GOD'S PROMISES
Every promise in the Book is NOT mine!
-
Are some of still suffering from LGPS
-
Loss of God's Promises
Shock
-
II Corinthians 1:20?
-
For all the promises of God in him are yea,
and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
-
Yes, but who are they to?
-
Romans 15:8?
-
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister
of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made
unto the fathers:
-
II Peter 1:4?
-
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
-
Have we truly escaped yet?
-
Are we 'set free' or 'made free?'
Our faith - our shield - is in the promises that
we have from Paul!
Not from Moses - Noah or even from Peter, James & John in their
sailboat
Matthew or Luke - John the Baptist - Isaiah
Jeremiah - Esther - Samuel - Ruth - etc.
Not even from Nelson Publishers, Zondervan's or J.R. Grooms, etc.
