More from Paul on "Sin"
What IS and What Is NOT Preached Here in Touchet

We Are to Work Out Our Salvation
(P.S. - not work FOR our salvation)
And what a workout it is these days!
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12

Introduction to the church / website family:

My own growth
It has been a personal thrill to be able to realize my growth as a Bible Believing Christian and to see how much Rightly Dividing has changed so many things about this Bible and in my witness to others...
... the peace of God
... a truer understanding
... seeing all that the Lord has shown me so far about the past, present and even the future (near and far)
... etc.

There really is some action after you put your foot into the Jordan - FAITH DOES GROW and the floods do go down!  Romans 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

However...

Church / website family growth
It is also is a joy and thrill to see and hear that you folks are getting these things that are preached here in Touchet!
Philippians 4:1  Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

As Paul says in I Thessalonians 2:1, it is great encouragement to me when I can see that my entrance into you with this Book has not been in vain!  For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:

I see that the Word of God does truly work effectually in you that believe - I Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.   the word of God can grow and prevail in one's own life and family! Acts 19:20  So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Some of you even call / write and tell me what God has shown you in your Bible...  I hear you talk to others about your Bible and what God is showing you ...  I hear how that Book gets you through your trials and troubles.  I either see some of your walk changing ... or ... seeing you developing an awareness about certain areas of your walk that you are learning of the need to deal with.

I hear of your witnessing and 'being there with your Bible' to others.

You are getting a grip on the Book!  Amen!
Some of your chains are loosening, eh!

Paul says it well for me "towards many of you"
as he 'greets' his folks in various places in the NT.

Fellowlabourers - Philemon 1:1  Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and Fellowlabourers,

Unfeigned faith - II Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee,

Your faith is growing exceedingly  II Thessalonians 1:3   We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly...

Your charity toward each other aboundeth more and more - II Thessalonians 1:3   ... and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

You are not as easily shaken or troubled as you used to be - II Thessalonians 2:2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

You are being deceived less and less concerning these days of apostasy - II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

You have a work of faith, a labour of love and patience of hope... - I Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

It is becoming obvious to me in your lives that God is truly performing a good work in you - and will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.  That gives us both confidence! Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

It is becoming more and more apparent that your love is aboundingmore and more in knowledge and in all judgment - you seek to approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence til the day of Christ... Philippians 1:9,10

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown,
so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Philippians 4:1

Yet there are so many folks frustrated, fretting and just missing the Book's truth!...

I continue to see and hear from so many folks still mixed up concerning that Book.  Even "KJBO" folks are getting more and more mixed up:

Many are even still looking for signs and don't even realize it!
Many are still wrongly dividing...
Many still have unanswered questions, confusion and doubts as they read through their Bible...

MANY just get caught up in the wrong battles and concerns for the days and times we live in...
I Timothy 1:4  Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
I Timothy 6:4  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words...
II Timothy 2:23  But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Titus 3:9  But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Many still just choose to remain in their snares... I Timothy 6:9  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. II Timothy 2:26  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Many still won't allow compassion to make a difference and others still ignore or reject any fear of the fire!  Jude 22,23   And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Many newly saved Christians still get caught by folks with another Jesus by a perverted gospel of Christ!  Galatians 1:6,7  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Paul's desire and fear as well as mine (and you for others) is stated well in  II Corinthians 11:1-4  Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Sermon Body
Today, as we continue our series on Paul and Sin, please turn to
II Timothy 4:1-8
We are going to concentrate on verses 1,2 this morning & verse 8 tonight.
1: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5: But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
First, let's read verses 2-7 - you ought to have a good awareness of these verses by now, eh!

Verse One

Now, looking at verse 1:  note that we are already done with our own judgment at this time.  Jesus Christ is mentioned as judging the quick (alive) and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

I do believe that we are nearing the last days - the end of the fulness of the Gentiles...  soon enough, the last days will be here!  The last TIMES will come later, though.

Today has the early smells of the Tribulation:

God seems to be allowing folks to do what they want (even Christians) as we draw near the end of these days!  See Proverbs 1:31. Chastisement for the Jew is coming soon (and anyone who wants to join them) and yet I see the chastisement for the Christian going to be the Judgment Seat of Christ (read Hebrews 12).  For us Christians these days, (Revelation 3:19), God chastises as well as guides us through His words!    (Man, look at the doctrinal teachings as well as personal vindictive behaviour among Christians going on lately - where is God concerning these things?  Not today!  Soon the fire will do the job)  More on this later...

Verse Two

Verse two tells us to expect the word to be preached and to preach the word!

What an honour; a thrill; a continual eye-opening & wake up call for a preacher to preach this Book!

We see "all that the word says it will do" in various levels in our growth (see the chart/tract on the Voice from Heaven for a detailed list of what that Book will do for you!)

We see Revelation 3:18 coming true to us folks here in Touchet and from within the website.  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

We can see here in Touchet Ephesians 1:17,18   That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and maybe even some of you are getting a glimpse of verse 19?And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

The entrance of thy words giveth light;
it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Psalm 119:130

WHAT WE DON'T PREACH HERE:

We don't preach the 'gospel's gospel!'
See Matthew 4:17; 10:7 - we don't preach the kingdom of heaven.  That is the Great Commission design, that is the ALPHA and modern bible version church goal and outline.  We preach the Kingdom of God - Romans 14:17  For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  Acts 19:8; 20:25; 28:23; I Corinthians 4:20; 6:9,10; 15:50; Galatians 5:21; Colossians 4:11; II Thessalonians 1:5.

We don't preach Mark 6:4 on "repentance only" for salvation.

We don't even preach Acts 2:38 for forgiveness or remission for salvation!  We preach a complete washing is necessary, and that by Christs blood - NOT by drinking it, either!

We don't preach that we must suffer shame as in Acts 5:41,42.  We only tend to shame ourselves and put on our own chains!

We do try to preach a form of Acts 14:15 - just not for salvation but for the inheritance.  And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

WHAT WE DO PREACH HERE:

Verse eight
And this brings us to verse 8 - my purpose and objective for today - Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

What about these crowns and rightly dividing?
That is in part II tonight!
