Under the Gospel of the Kingdom, the Apostle Peter was chosen to be
the chief of the twelve apostles. Matthew
16:19
The Lord appointed him personally, encountering him face-to-face in
the flesh.
Matthew 4:18-20.
Peter was close enough to Jesus that Jesus gave to him the 'keys
of the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 16:19
Peter was sought out by Satan himself.
Luke 22:31,32
He seems to still have used him today!
-
Peter is being used today to further the 'wrong' gospel to Gentiles.
-
Peter is considered by many to be the first pope.
-
How could that be if Satan tried to use Peter to deny Christ, as he did?
-
Matthew 16:21-23
-
Luke 22:54-62
Paul even had to rebuke Peter for his misactions with the people.
-
Galatians 2:14: But
when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the
gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest
after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou
the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Peter mentioned that Paul was hard to be understood.
II Peter 3:15,16
Peter's writings are written TO the people during the Tribulation.
-
He teaches strict obedience to the law, faith and to follow Jesus.
-
We can learn from the suffering verses that Peter wrote, but we don't have
to fret the consequences that Peter also warned to the people.
Throughout all of this, Peter was the apostle to the circumcision, not
uncircumcision.
-
Galatians 2:7,8 - But
contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed
unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that
wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the
same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
|
On the other hand, under the gospel of the grace of God, the Apostle
Paul was chosen to be the Lord's chief representative.
Paul also met with Jesus Christ but this time, it was the Risen Christ
that Paul had met - and more than once, as well.
Face to face with the Risen Christ!
-
Acts 9:15.16
-
Acts 20:24
-
Acts 26:16
-
Galatians 1:11,12
-
I Corinthians 15:8
-
II Corinthains 12:1-6
-
Ephesians 3:3
Paul's commission to the Gentiles was just as valid and important as Peter's
was to the Jews.
-
Galatians 2:7,8 - But
contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed
unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that
wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the
same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
We are to follow Paul as he followed the Risen Christ!
-
I Corinthians 11:1 - Be
ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.:
-
I Corinthians 4:17 - For
this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful
in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be
in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
