Acts 20:24 |
| In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of
Judaea and saying, "Repent ye: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand."
Matthew 3:1,2 "From that time Jesus began to preach and
to say Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
That was the message preached to Israel. God had promised them
a kingdom and a king - an earthly kingdom out of heaven and a King descended
from David.
However, Israel rejected their King - their Messiah! The LORD set them aside... |
...and a new gospel was announced.
The Apostle Paul was commissioned to make know this new message.
Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 11:6 - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
